Soon after Solephiles escaped his third banishment, he came across a young homeless boy named Chris. This boy was unphased by Solephiles' threats and, in fact, found them fascinating. This along with his spacey demeanor made it clear that he had seen death. Solephiles knew that there was nothing he could do to this boy to get fear as a response. After realizing this, he decided to take care of the boy even though he could barely keep himself together.
There was no sense to it but regardless, Solephiles felt responsible for this child now. It seemed that the boy also felt responsible for Solephiles as he would bring him a share of his food. Once Solephiles was strong enough to walk normally, they began taking turns finding food in the cold, unfeeling city. People who saw Solephiles would cry out in fear and begin rambling about demons. He paid it no mind until Chris wanted to come with him to gather food as it was scarce. When Chris was seen with Solephiles, he became known as the demon child.
It didn't make their situation any better when Solephiles killed two men when protecting Chris. Before long, the entire city knew of the 'killer demon'. The story kept getting exaggerated the more it went along and by the time it reached the news, the 'kill count' for Solephiles was 24.
GUN attempted raids of the camp where the two stayed but were unsuccessful as Solephiles was always alert. Many of the kids who used to know Chris got into small groups to find him with the intent to kill.
One such group eventually found him alone

Solephiles found him dead half an hour later

No one knew who killed the boy and there were too many scents for Solephiles to pick out.

Solephiles swore that he would avenge Chris, even if it took generations.

Even 30 years later, Solephiles still occasionally wanders the city in search of the killers. When there, he disguises as Chris and lurks near the area he was killed.
Solephiles often uses Chris' form when upset or hiding.
