As one of the clan’s founders, many would expect Endaf to take on the role of a prideful leader - but, he’s anything but that. While he assisted in the foundation of the clan, he doesn’t do much in it to begin with, which cause many to question his overall authority. He’s known to avoid many basic responsibilities, or otherwise blatantly ignoring them so that other, more prominent, dedicated dragons in the clan are left to figure it all out, which include but aren’t limited to both maintaining and expanding the clan. However, he’s not just known for his current lack of contributions - Endaf is a Guardian without a Charge. Around the time when the clan was first founded, years ago, his Charge was lost, causing him to behave in an overall somber and admittedly depressing manner, but many are able to truly understand why. Thus, many of his clanmates avoid pestering the Guardian to get things done, and instead turn to other much more powerful figures in the clan for advice and guidance. As strong as Endaf is, the loss of his Charge wears him down to begin him, leaving him with a feeling of emptiness at the worst of times; and as a result, unfit to properly lead the clan on his own. Numerous dragons within the clan believe that Endaf only stays with them due to the fact that his Charge was around the area where the clan settled, keeping him drawn to the clan’s territory. Endaf is notable for being rather useful in fights; and occasionally, a fully-fledged battle if he’s up for it, though his clanmates have stated that he isn’t all that helpful with anything else afterwards, mostly keeping to himself to dwell on his past and emit rather negative vibes in his constant somber state of mind. History He screamed, but it was too late. Amidst the battle and confusion he had strayed to far, and now he watched powerless as his charge was ripped away from life. Time slowed down and he saw the life drain from her eyes, the dragon that held her backed away with disdain. He ran towards them, feeling each time his foot hit the soft grass and into the soil below. Rage, fear, and disbelief fueled him. All other aspects of the battle became a blur as he stared down, helpless, at his lost charge. The dragon responsible snarled, and moved towards him. His focus shifted to it. Rage, fear, and disbelief fueled him. The rest of the battle blurred, he circled his fallen charge. Nothing would come close to her, nothing else. He would stay by her, with her, forever. He had pledged this. The battle ended, but he did not. Dragons approached him and he lashed out, nothing would come near her, not again. They left him there, he would not leave. He buried her there, but still he did not leave. It took time for him to notice the world around him again. Other dragons had lived through the battle, but not many. They had stayed here to make a clan, in the valley with the soft grass and the soil underneath. He stayed in the valley as well, with the soft grass and the soil and his charge underneath. |
