Biography

There is no son, there is no daughter
There's only arms they've never named
You are not you, you are a mirror
You only work when you're the same
But up here the walls no longer reach me
I am not bound by where I'm from
I'm not awake, I am not sleeping as I walk along
The in-between of everything
Moonn By: Radical Face

Moon has the power of the moon, also thought of as a Moon Deity. Though she was hatched as a Guardian, she has been slowly, since her time of birth, been transforming into a Pearlcatcher. Her family abandoned her soon after her hatching thinking she was a demon when she was really just misunderstood. She is one of the few dragons in the clan who can sing and is often found on the nearby Cliffside overlooking the ocean, seemingly calling to the moon. Once she's fully become a Pearlcatcher, her pearl is said to be a piece of the moon, bringing her to full power. There've been only a few documented accounts of Moon Deity's and all have ended in tragedy, so all the dragons in the clan hope to keep Moon safe, and maybe discover the truth of her Moon-singing.

Moon was first found on a dark rainy night. She was found at the border of lightning and fire, still a small hatchling. A hatchling Guardian lost out in a thunderstorm seemed a little odd, but a small lightning clan took her in. They took her for only one night, but they immediately realized something was wrong with her. Her pattern was shifting in the pale light, and fur tufts stuck up raggedly on her back. She was changing, and none of them knew what she was becoming. So, as soon as the storm passed, they sent a messenger to a clan where they'd heard odd dragons were welcomed.

When Singed got the news of the Guardian hatchling, he knew exactly what was happening. The frantic messenger described a 'devil child' that appeared at the edge of their territory. They explained the odd patterns and the tattered tufted fur. After all his studies of dragon abilities, Singed had only heard stories of such cases. This hatchling just had to be a Moon Deity. A rare type of dragon that could seemingly understand the moon, and harness its power. They were exceedingly rare, and almost always died before they were full grown. So Singed packed a few essentials and then set out to rescue the hatchling, desperately hoping it wasn't too late.

When Singed reached Moon, she was twisted in pain as her body shifted her into a completely new dragon. She didn't speak, and only let out small squeaking screams. Singed asked for any other information from the clan and got nothing. They didn't know where she was from, or what she was. Only that she had stumbled into the clan during a terrible storm and was lucky to be alive. With only that knowledge and the hope that he was doing the right thing, Singed scooped up Moon and began desperately flying towards shadow territories.

By the time they reached the Forum of the Obscured Crescent it was nightfall. The only recorded occurrence of a Moon Deity surviving their transformation occurred right here, many many years ago. A full moon rose in the sky, and dragons mulled around the edges of the huge stone structure. Praying they wouldn't interrupt him, Singed picked up the hatchling and approached the massive pit in the center. He looked up, at the pale icy moon above him, and he hoped that those old texts hadn't been lying. If they were, he'd be a hatchling murderer. Then again, she would die without this anyway, so it was all he could do. Singed held the writhing form of Moon up and then placed her in the shadowy pool.

The last thing either of us remembers was the shadowy goop glowing icy blue, the dragons on the edge of the forum screaming, and then darkness. I came out of the pool, a new dragon. Everything from that moment on, I remember, but anything before it is a blur of constant wracking pain. That's in the past, though. These days, the moon gives me power, and not pain. You want to hear another story, do you? Well, I have plenty all about what happened when I got here, and a very special one about my lovely Ohm, of course. Well then, hold onto my pearl and let's begin.

When Moon reached the clan, it was still known as CentralStarWave. She was but a young hatchling in a clan full of amazingly powered dragons. She was lost in all the fuss over her, but she couldn't help but love it. She had been turned away for so long, that this was like nothing she'd ever experienced before. The young Pearlcatcher felt at home, and yet something was missing. Once she was checked over by the clan's doctor, she was allowed to wander the territory with Singed, to get an idea of her new home. That's when she found the cliffs. at the edge of the territory, huge shimmering cliffs overlooked rolling hills that lead to a beach, and then into the ocean. Here, Moon felt an insatiable desire to sing. So she did.

As Moon opened her mouth, an incredible voice ripped from her. She sang beautifully of things past present and future. There were tales of dragons leaving when they were needed most, and dragons who would only cause death if left to rule. She sang through the night, and Singed sat in awe of her. Never had he heard a dragon sing of such things with so much beauty and such accuracy. It became clear that Moon, whether she liked it or not, was a prophet. As she shook herself from the trance, Singed informed her of the news and Moon found herself startled. She had remembered singing, yes, but she had seen all the things she had sung about clear as day as if they were memories deep in her mind.

This revelation led to Moon adopting a Scribe into her life. Mya, a young Spiral, was chosen for the job and followed Moon out every full moon to record the prophecies she spoke. In the following days, Mya would write out possibilities and solutions to each of the prophecies, before going to record more down. Moon couldn't help but adore the spiral for all the assistance and appreciation she provided, and the pair became close friends, so it only seemed fit for Mya to be there when Ohm came into the picture.

It was a particularly stormy night much like the night Moon was discovered. Moon still went out to sing despite the full moon being obscured by wicked black clouds and began to sing. Mya had noted on nights like this Moon wasn't as into the singing, as her prophecies seemed to be sourced using energy from the moon. As Mya huddled by her best friends side, Moon began to sing. Tonight was especially strange, as Moon just repeated the same verse over and over, singing of a dragon of poison, who had only ever tried to help his family, but it had ended in terrible tragedy. Suddenly, she stopped singing and her head whipped down towards the sandy beach at the bottom of the cliffs where the waves gnarled and ripped at the shore. There, huddled at the bottom of the cliffs, huddled at their edge was a Nocturne, desperately clawing at the dirt.

Moon gestured for Mya to wait, before going to investigate. She found the small black and red nocturne attempting to bury another dragon of similar colors in the dirt, her lifeless scales bubbled and charred, a clear sign of acid burns. The male was in tears as he struggled to hide the body, and he barely noticed Moon's landing until her talon came to rest on his shoulder. He shot up with a snarl, and he clutched the limp body to his chest. "Stay back!" He roared over the storm. "Let me finish what I've started and I'll leave! This has nothing to do with you!" The Nocturne growled, his wings flickering open. Moon only shook her head and stepped closer. "Ohm, it wasn't your fault." She said softly, barely a whisper but somehow audible above the whirling winds of the storm. Ohm froze and blinked, before breaking into a sob and falling into Moon. He didn't know this dragon, but he knew he could trust her, somehow. Moon pulled Ohm into a hug and closed her eyes, and they stayed like that for a very long time.

It's not known what else was said to bring Ohm into the camp that night, or how Moon knew so much about him, but after that night the pair were inseparable. It became a well-known fact around the clan that the two were hopelessly in love, and soon were expecting hatchlings. All seemed well until Midori took over the clan.

When Midori WickedBones, a dragon seemingly kind and brave, despite his name, arrived to 'save the clan' Moon only seen a dragon with bad intent. Nobody believed her, and she was forced to watch helplessly as the Imperial was made into clan leader. Moon was plagued with visions of horror and death, and she tried to spread the news but she was powerless. Midori had already sunk his grubby talons into the dragons within the clan. Even Ohm, seemed to be appreciative of Midori, and Moon came to the conclusion that she may have to wait this one out.

The one dragon who seemed to agree with Moon was Mya. The young spiral was open with her dislike towards their new leader, and she grew increasingly frowned upon. Moon desperately tried to warn Mya, telling her that perhaps it would be best if she backed down, but Mya was not a dragon to give up so easily. It was only a, matter of time before Mya was effectively dealt with. One night she was resting peacefully in the clan, the next she had disappeared, seemingly into thin air. Although most clan members just brushed it off with Mya finally leaving, Moon knew her friend well, and this meant that she knew that the spiral would never do such a thing. Her next vision confirmed her suspicions, as Moon had a terrible vision of Mya being grabbed by the massive Imperial that led their clan, and as she struggled and strained, she progressively lost energy until she was a pile of dust that blew away into the wind.

Mya was murdered.

This shook Moon to her core, and she grew increasingly desperate to convince her clanmates that something was terribly wrong. Ohm began to catch on that something might not be quite right about Midori, as their leader grew increasingly controlling, and confided as much to Moon. At that moment, Moon made the decision to explain what happened to Mya to Ohm, and when she did, it all seemed to click. Ohm had been quite close with Mya as well, and had noticed odd dust flowing from Midori's den every once and a while. If this was true, many dragons who had been thought to have left the clan, were in fact dead. Not just dead, but murdered.

The night the New Leader prophecy arrived, Moon was startled. She wasn't quite sure that the clan could ever escape the hell they were living through, and yet the image of the young pale green Imperial that seemingly had the guts to overthrow Midori was so vivid in her mind that she knew he must be the one who could save them. Moon turned to Abe, the dragon who was in charge of identifying what dragons powers were, for help. He was often the first to meet dragons new to the clan, and also had a general dislike of Midori. He would hopefully be able to see the prophesied dragon and perhaps be able to take him in before anyone else could. However, the plan went differently than anyone could've ever imagined.

The day the great Imperial arrived was a dark stormy summer's eve, and as lightning lit up the sky, a meeting was called. Midori stepped up to the auditorium, a small hatchling in his talons. He swiftly announced that the dragon he held, was the next heir to the clan, Mirai. He was a pale green Imperial, who's thin form cut across the darkened sky. Yes, the dragon who was to defeat Midori, was Midori's own son. A terrible knot formed in Moon's stomach as she realized the task at hand.

As soon as Mirai reached Abe, however, everything changed. Abe offered to train Mirai, for their powers were to some extent, quite similar. Midori luckily agreed, and so Mirai was signed over to Abe, who watched the child carefully. Moon and Abe became Mirai's family in a way, and raised him until he was old enough to understand the power he held. When he was finally told of his destiny, Mirai was, and still is hesitant regarding the matter.

Presently, Moon is keeping a close eye on Mirai, and also has recently gotten visions regarding her, Abe and Enoch working with Mirai to overthrow Midori. She's also seen many other visions to do with plenty of future events that could possibly ruin the clan, or make it greater, but nothing is for sure yet. For now, Moon is simply a prophet, predicting things that could possibly come true. We don't know what the future holds, but Moon... Well Moon just may.
