Biography

Holding to the thought of another time
But looking to the ways at the ones before me
Looking for the path of the young and lonely
I don't want to hear about what to do
I don’t want to do it just to do it for you
-Zero, By: Imagine Dragons

He wont understand
Neither will we
But when the time comes
He'll join the three
To forever change our clan's fate
We can only hope
He wont be too late
-Moon's Prophecy of Four

This was the prophecy Moon uttered one night. This prophecy was decidedly the second part to the one that she'd called the "New Leader Prophecy". This prophecy, based on the alluding to a dragon joining three others, was called the "Prophecy of Four" She also spoke of a vivid vision of her alongside Mirai, Abe and a young Skydancer who looked as if he was part of the night sky, facing down Midori. So, with the negative connotation this prophecy had towards her current leader, Moon decided to file this prophecy with the New Leader Prophecy in that only those who can be trusted are allowed to hear it. When Midori asked Moon of the prophecies she'd received that night, she simply alluded to a Skydancer who was soon to join the clan. She described the young prodigy, and the appearance of the star-covered dragon was recounted to Singed, who set out to find such a dragon.

This is where Enoch enters the story

Young, reckless and born with three other siblings, Enoch stood out as nothing other than a bad child. Just his luck, his other three siblings were little perfect angels, and they were all very different from him. Not in that they looked different, no it was very apparent that the group was in fact siblings, no the difference was in the fact that Enoch was curious, nosy, and frankly not what his family expected. While his siblings were rough and tumble tricksters like most other Shadow aligned hatchlings, Enoch was more scholarly. He spent his days writing and studying and reading, much to his clan's behest. He didn't fit in. Instead of spending his days planning harmless pranks or playing with toys, he spent it pestering the clan scholars or wandering off alone to go study beastclans in the area, almost getting him killed on several occasions. It's notthat Enoch wanted to concern his family, quite the opposite. He wanted to be the perfect child that his siblings were, but he also wanted to learn. Wanted to know who hung the stars in the night sky, why some dragons recieved prophecies, and why dragons all hated the beastclans. He couldn't understand why nobody else understood that. When he tried to explain, they looked at him with confusion and barely concealed disgust. He was asking all the right questions, but to all the wrong dragons.

So, when he was old enough, he did what any good outcast hatchling did.
He ran away.

The real world is not a kind place to dragons like Enoch. Heads full of dreams and ideas and hopes are quickly dashed away by dragons who want to use that naivety to their advantage. Enoch found himself in the tumble of it all bouncing from clan to clan only to find that everyone seemed to be equally annoyed by his constant questions and awkward disposition. He was a blacksmith's apprentice for a portion of time, then a fisher-dragon, and even a courier, but that's not what Enoch wanted. He wanted to learn, and write, but nobody seemed to have the right job for him, they all semed to want to use him for whatever task they needed him to fill. That is until he found Singed. Or rather, Singed found him.

It wasn't Enoch's fault that he became tangled in the brambles at the edge of Shadow territories. Really, they just popped up out of the mist and grabbed him. But, when a towering Guardian emerged from the fog to help him out, Enoch didn't complain. That's how he made his way into what was known at the time as The Clan Killing Sword, a place that took in outcasts with welcome arms. Almost instantly he was given his own writing hut, and promised he could author his own books and academic papers with no costs. It was too good to be true. Little did the young dragon know, Midori was watching from the shadows, talons poised to warp his academic prowess into his own twisted reality.

The Journal is way out of date oops but it was originally a first person way to explain what was going on in my clan

The Enoch Journal
Day #1

If you're reading this, this paper has been published, and that in itself is incredible. These papers should be coming out daily, for as long as I'm able and living.
Things in my clan aren't right, and that's why I'm doing this. Those in my clan, save for Thresher, Abe, and Moon, will never read this. This is for outside eyes only, and for good reason. My whole clan is falling apart, and there's nothing to be done. If you, reading this, try to help, you will likely die. So simply, just read, and I hope you at least learn something from these papers. I hope to detail the daily events, and escapades of my clan, as well as any important developments that occur. Thresher keeps an eye out for anything important, and I write it down. I worry she'll be caught one day, but she doesn't seem to care. She's such a loyal friend, I doubt I'll ever find an assistant as good as her, if something does happen to her. I dearly hope nothing does.
Midori is always watching, if he catches her spying or me writing… We'll both be done for. There are so many innocent lives he's taken, that he doesn't want the outside world to know about. His secrets are innumerable and I fear that his mind is only deteriorating. That's why I'm writing this. When something finally happens to this clan, whether it collapses, or we all simply are brainwashed and enslaved, I want documentation of the hell we were going through during it all. Anyway, back to the point of this first journal. From this day on, I will write a paper and send it out, to be published to whomever may read it. Each day will be detailed, either in paragraphs or notes, depending on the amount of time available to me. I will explain the events and various things me and Thresher have discovered, in hopes that someone will keep track of these things outside the clan. I pray to Plaguebringer that somebody reads this, and believes me. This clan needs more help than you know.
Please, we need all the help we can get.

The Enoch Journal
Day #2

I understand that I was rather... pleading with my previous entry. That was my debut, and so I decided I might establish what these papers were to be about, and speak of the life we're living. Beyond that, the documentation begins here. Today started with a bang, with Thresher coming to me in the early hours of the morning. I had fallen asleep in my study, writing one of my many books. Since Myra hasn't been home in days, dealing with so many hatchlings, I had no reason to go to my regular den. Thresher informed me that she had finally gotten a glimpse of Estuary's latest painting, in which he had been keeping very secret. It, evidently depicts him decapitating an Imperial, in which Thresher couldn't yet identify. She worries that it may be Midori in the image. If it was, and such a scandalous painting were to get out, it would be the end of Estuary's career, hell it'd be the end of dear Estuary. Estuary is a close friend of mine, though I share not with him my secrets, and I would be deeply disturbed to see him go. Save for this moment, the rest of the day was fairly regular, with many dragons passings through the clan to visit the market, and Midori watching them over to see anyone he might want to… induct into the clan. I really wish he gave more dragons a choice, and I wonder why so many dragons still come to shops in the clan, but I suppose with our unique abilities our craftsmanship is beyond that of many dragons outside the clans. Anyway, the day carried on with the usual events, until the evening. Whilst on a late walk across the territory, Thresher and I spotted Masul, one of our clan's lesser powered dragons, sneaking out. He surely wasn't authorized, and we surmised that he must simply be taking this dark night to finally escape the tight grip of Midori. This theory stood, until we both returned to the clan to see Masul standing and cleaning coins from the fountain in the center of the clan. We talked to him briefly, and I even lay a talon on his shoulder when wishing him goodnight. He was solid, and in fact not an illusion, which begs the question of what me and Thresher seen in the woods this night. I try not to let it bother me, bit I fear there is even more going on in the clan than even Thresher and I know, and that sometimes keeps me up at night. I think about this and even now, it distresses me to think that there is something the two dragons who are supposed to know everything, truly do not know. I need to cleanse myself of these thoughts, it is late and I worry I won't sleep, and I may have horrid dreams if I keep going on like this. A cup of tea and a warm blanket should suffice, hopefully to put my worries at bay. I wish those reading this a fair night, and I hope that I also have such a night. Stay safe, all.

Day #3

If you're still reading this, you must be enjoying these papers to some extent, and I thank you for that alone. Today has been rather harrowing, with a storm having run through the whole day with no break. It was rather awful, and had me and Thresher all cooped up for the day. Lighting did strike a little too close for comfort, and almost lit our marketplace ablaze. I rather dislike lightning and it gave me quite the scare, to the amusement of Thresher. She may be my best friend, but she really doesn't help when one is scared half to death I'll have you know. Besides that, she did talk quite a bit about her life today. She spoke of a dragon in which she was hopelessly in love with, and I think it may be that Shusui, she does look at him so often. I wanted to tell her that he is almost certainly… not attracted to those of the femenine gender, but I didn't have the fortitude to do so. She just kept going on about how handsome this young dragon she loved was, and I just couldn't crush her dreams. She'll learn in time I suppose. Though the rain did continue through the day, we spotted Midori checking around the camp at about noon. I was making some tuna sandwiches when I spotted him, and Thresher dared to brave the rain and sneak out to follow him to see what he was up to. It turned out to be just a normal checkup for the most part, but she noted that he was very aggressive to poor Abe, who was busy trying to keep himself afloat while the river overflowed with rainwater. They chatted about Mirai for a short time, Midori speaking about his son in an edged tone, Thresher told me. I find it odd, but according to Thresher, Midori suspects Mirai wants to overthrow him. I don't understand this, as Mirai is so soft-spoken and kind, I doubt he has a bad bone in his body. Midori is paranoid, however, so it's to be expected that he should make some poor judgements. Mirai and Abe are close companions, with Abe being more of a father to Mirai than Midori was most of the time, and so I think Midori resents him and that was part of the reason for their heated conversation. I do hope that issue resolved itself, things could dissolve quickly without Abraham around. After Thresher returned to my study, thoroughly soaked, I lit a fire, and we enjoyed a nice afternoon and eve of writing. Not much else occurred, with visitations at a minimum, due to my study being a separate place from the main residential areas, where everyone was waiting out the storm. I plan to rest now, as I am exhausted as per usual. Days are long and only seem to be getting longer. I only hope that whoever is reading this is having a better time, and perhaps actually enjoying the rain. I'm sure not, but that is simply just me. Goodnight, all.

Day #4

Something is wrong. We all feel it. There's been talk that tomorrow something is going to change all of Sornieth. Every prophet in every clan has seen it, and yet, none have been quite sure what it is yet. It's worrisome, with everything that's been going on as of recent, what with dragons growing increasingly hostile, and acting so oddly. Thresher is staying with me in my study as we wait this out. The nests are all due to, rather unfortunately, hatch tomorrow, including four of my own offspring, and so Myra is busy with that. I begged her mercilessly to come stay at my study for the night, as the thought of her being harmed causes me great distress, but she refused. She is so very loyal, and I suppose that's part of the reason I love her so. Thresher and I stayed in through the day, as did most dragons. The dire prophecy of what's to come killed all business in the market and made even the most fearsome dragons stay in, worried that some sort of magic surge could do who knows what to them. It should be noted, that in the evening, two tundras arrived in the clan. It was an awfully chilly night, and they seemed quite lost. Singed sensed something special about them, and Midori agreed to let them stay, at least for the night. They introduced themselves as Kinath and Talise, and they were wanderers. I was immediately suspect, and Thresher agreed with me. It's just too odd that the night before a widely prophesied event of catastrophic proportions, two random dragons show up with nothing to their names. I suppose perhaps we're being too critical, but I have every right to fear the worst. Thresher followed them around for a while, but the pair just cozied up in one of the guest caves and slept immediately. They're both from ice territories, so I presume they have travelled far, but that doesn't make them any less suspect. Thresher returned shortly after, and we both decided it was best to go to sleep. She felt uncomfortable sleeping in her usual location, so she slept on the couch in my office, while I chose to sleep on my convenient pullout bed. She's asleep at this moment while I write this, but I myself am unable to rest. Horrid thoughts flood my mind and I can't help but worry. I should be trying to get some sleep. Who knows what tomorrow holds. I do hope whoever reads this is in a better state. May your clan be safe and warm. Good wishes, all.
