Angar

The shore is mostly rocks against edges of a dark forest. The path to Shorewatch is long, and dimly lit and despite the undergrowth and grasping vines, the path is well kept. With the smell of salt water and the opening to the ocean comes the first view of Shipwreck Point. The twisted remains of a ship crashed against the rocks has been cannibalized and altered into what looks like an inn or tavern. Rough logs make up what walls hadn't survived impact, a firepit on the small but of sand in the center of a few dragons, taking in the heat of a bonfire. Others perch upon the remains of a top deck, watching out to ocean, while inside the scent of cooked food, and sounds of conversation drift out.

Angar is almost missed among the sights and sounds until they make themselves known. The Goaler drags a massive pile of logs on a rough cart towards the bonfire. Their massive form is missed among the undergrowth and turning autumn leaves, but stark against the stone and sea, the bulk of the Gaoler is plain. Impressive strength is obvious as they drag their cargo towards the bonfire. A few dragons greet them with a word or a wave, but Angar merely bows their antlered head, quietly shifting the logs onto the fire heedless of the heat despite the soft pattern of fur. Even their movements are quiet, everything about them understated, and almost muted.

Angar is also the first person to greet new arrivals. They greet them with silence, and a measured glance. There are eyes on the Gaoler that seem to undress a creature of their secrets, extract their motives, and judge their intent. Some newcomers get a welcome smile. Some a respectful nod. Others are blocked and barred from entry, and some whispers around Shorewatch hint that sometimes, rarely, the guests are never seen again.
