Occupation
Clan Co-Founder, Co-Leader
"To see others have the chance to lead new lives makes me the happiest dragon in all of Sornieth."

Hello, dear friend, and welcome to our clan lair! I am Roy.

Some dragons here like to refer to me as the "leader" around here, but I prefer not to refer to myself with such a title. While my wife and I are the founders of this clan, we welcome all dragons to join our family, and see them as equals.

LEFT TO DIE

I don't remember much of my early life as a hatchling. From what I CAN recall, my parents, who's names were never told to me, were exalts to the Filthy One, and left me to be cared for by the clan elders. However, I didn't live with them for very long, taking my leave once I was old enough to forage and care for myself, and went on to face the brutal elements of the Scarred Wasteland alone.

To think, I was so young back then. I don't even think my coat had fully grown in yet, though on numerous occasions I was forced to manually tear my own fur off when it got too matted and dirtied by the filth and grime of my homeland. I managed to find enough food and swallow down enough slime-coated, disease-ridden water to survive for several years, though I was nowhere near what one could consider "healthy". My fur was either always dirty or balding in some areas, my chest sunken, revealing my ribcage, and my body was covered in scars and wounds from battling countless other dragons for food, water, and shelter.

I hated fighting. The blood, the pain, it was all too much for me. I always felt ashamed of it, always thinking "What kind of Plague dragon am I"? And unfortunately, it often lead me towards holding back during battles for survival, and one day I had met an opponent that was so powerful, that they had spilt my blood against the sandy wastelands like a canvas, and left me to die. As I felt the maggots and flies breeding in my wounds, the vultures pecking at my flesh, and the Plaguebringer calling me home, I was so close to letting go... Until a Mirror bit at my scruff and dragged me across the barren sands to her shelter, nursing me back to health. For days, she protected me, gathered food for me, and made sure I recovered safely until I was back on my paws again.

THE BIRTH OF THE CLAN

Her name was Agnes. She was devoted to the Plaguebringer, determined to save all of her children so that her disease may thrive. I told her I was not worth saving, as I was too pathetic to be a child of Plague. She brushed it off as mere nonsense and told me to follow her. Having nowhere else to go, and seeking company, I complied.

We fell in love. Being in each other's company, learning more about each other as the brutal days and horrid nights passed by, we became inseparable. Though I was still reluctant to fight at times, I always made sure she was safe, and she did the same for me. We wanted to build a home, and start a family together. I convinced Agnes to do the same for other dragons as she did for me, as I believed that no dragon deserved to go through what I did.

We first dug open our lair right in the rocky, pestilent caves of the Wandering Contagion. It was a small and quiet home, where we decided to take shelter and have our first clutch of eggs. Soon enough our altruistic natures came into fruition, as dragon upon dragon fell ill and wounded near our home and we graciously took them in, welcoming them as family.

ODYSSEY

When our lair was populated enough, Agnes and I decided to travel further to the other areas of Sorneith, seeking dragons that needed homes and families. My fondest memory of this was when we traveled to the Hewn City, and encountered an abandoned egg, the only one of its nest still alive. Mimicking Agnes's kindness, I took this egg home and cared for it (alongside my now-growing clutch) until it hatched into a beautiful young Tundra resembling myself. I named her Odyssey, and raised her like a sister.

Looking back now, I am filled with joy to see how large my family, both blood and bond, has grown since Agnes and I dug out the lair so long ago. There has not been a day where I have not loved my life the way it is now, and I couldn't thank my dear wife enough for saving me from certain death those many years ago. However, to be completely honest, I still fear losing her. Not to death, but rather... To him.

INNES

We took him in after noticing him limping across the sand, his leg infected from what looked like a bite from a Snapper. He was older, and the both of us worried if his old age would leave him unable to recover fully. Needless to say, he healed just fine, and he hasn't shown me the least bit of kindness despite it. Innes had quickly noticed that the other dragons among him saw Agnes and I as the leaders, and that I was nowhere near as fierce and powerful as she.

He calls me "weak", "unexperienced", claiming that he should rule instead... Though I've abstained from fighting when not for survival, there are times where I wish I could show Innes just what suffering I have gone through to find my dear Agnes, and create the home which he parades around in. He's since found a mate of his own, another Guardian that joined our side after a battle for dominance against the Light flight, but there are times where I feel like perhaps he is a better mate for Agnes than I. Though after attacking our son, she seems to despise him as much as I do. But I still can't help but continue to worry...

Now that I have finished prattling on to you, please, make yourself at home. Whether you stay for a few nights or make yourself a permanent member of our clan, I am happy to help you feel comfortable and relax here in the lands of Plague.
