B I O G R A P H Y

Lady Maria Macbeth is the Clan Leader, voted in after the old leader retired near the end of the Beast Clan War, when groups of beast clan gathered together into a roughly cohesive army. At that point Lady Macbeth was leading the army, and was seen as a hero and the best leader for the clan. She is strong and smart, always ready to do what's best for the clan- morally ambiguous or not. One of her more radical changes she implemented in the clan was recruiting and protecting dangerous criminals/ wizards/ dragons on the run, in return for them fighting against the dangerous beast clans corrupted by the Shade. While clan members do find this distasteful, they know that because of this method they've had a lot less deaths in the clan and have actually been able to grow. Before they were a more isolated fringe group fighting their own battles against the Beast Clan and barely surviving, and now they are flourishing.

Lady Macbeth does whatever it takes to maintain a strong and respected public image and be generally well liked, ensuring that she remains the Clan Leader. This influences a lot of her decisions- like hiding the fact that Laertes is her son, a Berserker warrior that most clan members are prejudice against. While most of her decisions can be seen as cold and horribly rational, she does have a softer interior that cares deeply for her clan members and the intense desire to do what's necessary to protect them. She also has a dark sense of humor, popping up when clan members are slacking or gallows humor while on the battlefield. She can be petty too, snubbing political enemies and spreading rumors about dragons who are getting on her nerves.

Lady Macbeth met her bondmate Macbeth while they were both lowly soldiers and basically cannon fodder. They trained and fought together, took long walks at night, confessing secrets. He gave her old neckerchiefs that became an inside joke between them, her earning his favour. Her favorite was the green one. While Lady Macbeth quickly rose through the ranks, Macbeth had more trouble with being exposed to traumatic violence. He developed a severe case of PTSD, which Lady Macbeth ignored and brushed aside, sure he was 'overreacting.' A few weeks before Lady Macbeth was voted in for Clan Leader, Macbeth killed himself. Lady Macbeth has never forgiven herself for that, that her tunnel vision aspirations made Macbeth lose the support he needed, and she blames herself. Has worn the old green neckerchief he gave her ever since.

_RELATIONSHIPS_

____Lady Macbeth doesn't really have any close friends- the dragons who are on her level in politics are ones she has to careful with/wary about, and to most of the clan she has to maintain a careful and appealing image. The only dragon who is her confidant and her closest friend is Puck, her second in command who is completely loyal to her. They have an unspoken queer-platonic relationship that a lot of the clan assumes is romantic in nature. Lady Macbeth hasn't actually had a relationship since losing the love of her life, Macbeth.
