Hybiscus

Hybiscus flew in one day from lands so distant that her wings were literally tattered. Most of her scales had fallen off from malnutrition. (She still can't talk about whatever it was that pushed her to the point of such a perilous journey to escape, or why her voice is so mysteriously raspy.) Hybiscus was silent for months after her arrival on the Island, and the Clan wondered if she would fly off once her strength was regained. But when nurturing Arella invited her to move into her cozy lair, Hybiscus began her real healing. It was then that she finally allowed her heart to feel love again.

Despite her years working whatever odd kitchen jobs she could prove herself useful with, she never really seemed fulfilled, and appeared to have only the most rudimentary grasp of the Clan's language. However, one serendipitous afternoon when Dizzy was out with the dreaded tail rot, Hybiscus was able to recite every recipe she'd ever seen him prepare. Fable quickly appointed her with the highly esteemed position of Wish Keeper (a task requiring impeccable memorization). It wasn't long before her sweet and highly cerebral personality began to emerge. The Clan can't imagine life without cheerfully organized Hybiscus, and her vibrant glowing aura that is only possible with a truly content dragon.
