"Please ignore that I'm basically throwing up into your cups and giving it to you. It's coffee. Don't overthink it."

A tiny Coatl trotted through the Tangled Woods, following the irresistible scent of fresh-baked pastries. He had always had a nose for that kind of stuff, and it had gotten him in trouble many times before.

Eventually he paused, swishing his tail against the dead leaves in thought.

He was so caught up in his own musing that he hardly registered when a red Wildclaw stepped in front of him, peering down at him curiously. "What are you doing out here?" They finally asked, causing the Coatl to jump.

"Following the smell of food," The Coatl replied, honestly.

The Wildclaw grinned. "I can take you there," they said. "That's probably from the bakery some of my Clanmates own."

"Really?" September jumped to his feet, translucent wings scattering light into the shadowy forests. "Lead on, then!"

Kaswera flicked their tail, turning away. "Come on, then. You don't seem half bad. I think my Clanmates may be convinced to take you in."

September skipped happily along, following the larger Wildclaw. This is it, he thought. This is my big chance to shine, to do something bigger than me. No pun intended. He squinted up at the Wildclaw as if they could read the Coatl's thoughts.

"I'm not a kid, you know." September finally said, blinking up at the Wildclaw with golden eyes.

"I figured." Kaswera said. "Eventually you can kind of tell when someone's a kid or not. And you are not a kid."

"Are there others like me in your Clan?" September asked.

"Nah." Kaswera said. "We do have quite a couple of interesting characters though. You're bound to relate to some of them."

Despite himself, September was excited.

This was what he was waiting for.

The Aehan Clan was... nice. September had gotten a room near the Bakery that he filled with different paintings and stained glass pieces he had acquired from wandering around the library, rummaging through the rubble the rest of the Clan hadn't gotten to yet. His den was a whirlwind of color and light, perfect for watching while you sipped a cup of steaming hot coffee.

And the Bakery?

The Bakery was like heaven itself. Every day, September, Khajit, and Jaehee would take orders from their customers, laughing and joking along. September was in charge of the drinks, easily whipping up orders like nobody's business. His specialty drink was the Firemana Macchiato, a deliciously bittersweet coffee he kept securely stored in his Capsule, the recipe carefully memorized and guarded. It was a Clan favorite, although newcomers were often off-put by the... location... the drink was stored.

The Clan was confused at first on why September never grew up, and he eventually had to explain to them that he was a Pygmy dragon, that he would always appear as a child. Of course, that meant that hardly any clothes would ever fit up. Almost immediately afterwards, Khajit made a sweater especially for him, which September wears almost everywhere.

September's familiar, Andii, was given to him as a gift by Tameika. The gentle snake is almost always at Sept's side, often dozing while he works at the Bakery.

And as for his old Clan?

Sure, he misses it a lot. But he loves it here, and wouldn't trade this place for the world.

Even if there was a weird death mage living in their basement.

Notes

-Cost 2050 gems to gene up. Originally Petals/Butterfly/Glimmer.

-Pretty much the only thing keeping the Clan from falling apart, besides Shura.

-Smells like caramel, fruit, and coffee. His wings constantly reflect light, like stained glass.

-Fall aesthetic to the max.

-Regened as a birthday present to myself.

-Gets really annoyed when dragons call him a kid.

-Puns and jokes to the max.

-A fall nerd who would probably eat a whole pumpkin if someone dared him to.

Lair Description

Unlike the rest of the Refugees, September's room is located next door to the bakery.

Inside, a variety of different cushions and blankets litter the floor. Fairy lights are strung across the ceiling, casting a gentle glow across the small room. It always smells of coffee and treats, and more often than not there are spare mugs and plates lying on the tables and floor. There is a roof-to-floor ceiling bookshelf, and books are messily organized on the shelves. September, when not found in the bakery, can often be found lying on one of his many beanbags, devouring a book with a cup of coffee besides him.
