B I O G R A P H Y

It was uncertain whether Seraphine was going to live when she was born. In the Fire Flight, it is commonly said that if a dragon is born during an eclipse, it is incredibly unlucky and that their lifespan would be a short one. And so, unfortunately for Seraphine, she was born on such a day. The mark of the eclipse on her wings is a beacon to every dragon of the nature of her birth, and was avoided by most of her clanmates in the Fire Flight. Even though many never wanted to be in contact with the small fire dragon, her father, Orion, still loved her and cared for her. Seraphine would always remember his kindness.

Seraphine shortly left the Fire Flight, bidding her parents farewell in search of a new clan that would accept her. She wandered for many days and nights all alone, and no dragons ever approached her, even in the Scarred Wasteland. During this time, she was also beginning to show signs of changing the weather around her. There were times when it would be a clear sunny day, and when she would think about her life, the clouds would quickly turn grey. When she was about to give up hope of ever finding someone to confide in, she came across a clan in the Light Flight. One such dragon in the clan, whose name was Luthier, saw something within her. He sensed a great power in her, but still a tragic past and future as well. Disregarding his former clan’s superstitions, he persuaded the Amitola Clan to take in Seraphine, and they eventually (and reluctantly) took her in.

Currently, Seraphine is still avoided by the majority of her clanmates, but has made steady progress in her relationships with others who see more in her. Luthier is her greatest confident, and has never met another dragon quite as reassuring. She tells him often that he reminds her of her father. Seraphine also met an unexpected friend in Khione, the ice representative. And although Horus is still wary around her, he does not regret taking her into the clan and even talks to her occasionally, always curious. Seraphine is still developing her control of the weather, and has come so far as to predict the changes in the patterns of the sky for the clan. Seraphine looks up at the sky often, smiling as she does so. “Unlucky?” She remarks, “then why is the sun always shining?”
