NICHOLAS
a tiny, squirming nocturne is seen in the distance, flailing his wings as if he's trying to fly. though, he cannot lift himself off the ground, no matter how hard he tries.
he's alone in a place where dangerous creatures lurk, and they could come out of nowhere and take him away.
he cries out for help, hoping a dragon will come and take him to safety.
and, to his surprise, his cries actually work. a large, iridescent wildclaw drops next to him, inspecting him from head to tail.
oh dear. what are you doing here alone, little guy? she tells him. you could get yourself hurt.
he looks up at her and notices she has similar colors to him: red, green, and white.
. . . chrissmas?? is all he could get out.
the wildclaw laughs, picking him up.
you're a funny little guy. say, what's your name?
the nocturne bounces up and down, his tail wagging.
nicholas!! he squeaks.
that's a cute name. she replies, smiling. i'm belle. it's nice to meet you, nicholas.
