Biography

here comes the sun: crow
16443.png7568.png200.png
"Crow must apologize to tree!" The construct's voice blares out of internal speakers hooked into larger speakers. "Initializing hug sequence. Action: hug, permission granted... Loading... Processors online. Hug will now be launched."
status: emissary of life according to certain individuals. location unknown; tendencies to insert self into random places as convenient causes crow to be hard to trace.

The report slides across the desk silently. It's courier is a Fae of tiny stature, typical for the breed, with a vivacious pattern of green-purple scales shimmering and beckoning both beneath his heavy robes and the ethereal membrane of his wings. There is much to say on and to the Fae in question but words arrive at a loss for the monarch and instead he spends his time staring at the report on his desk.

Then--the Fae speaks.

"Everything here... it is on it. The creature. The Crow." Candor whispers without inflection. His sage-green eyes are pale and lifeless.

Like Minerva's. The monarch stiffens.

Nyx pushes his chair back. The candelabras lighting the chamber he deems an 'office' begin to have their flames flicker and dance as the Skydancer slowly shuffles his way around the desk. He joins Candor and both dragons stare at the collection of papers--each tucked neatly among the other and tied firmly with a thin string. The pause that occurs lasts longer than the previous one and soon Nyx begins to squirm. He tears off his two masks and shudders at the cold cavern air hitting his exposed mandible. Then he grasps his hood and reels it off his head and unto his shoulders.

Like Candor--Queen Nyx of Pendulum has eyes that speak sad, tragic tales. A different kind of Shade possesses the once shining golden irises and it forces an unusual hue forward in its place. The Shade in Nyx's form move beneath his skin and writhe around the points where necrotic tissue meets open air.

"I want to open it. I want to, Candor, but..." The Skydancer trailed off. His hands begin to shake; he slowly balls them into a fist.

Candor remains impassive. The Fae is still as stone but offers a small response, "Scared?"

The monarch nods. "It is... hard to think through, Candor. These possibilities that exist. I don't want them to be true. I don't want them keeping me up at night. I don't want them. I don't--!"

"Yes. Your wife told me the same."

"How does it know? Those nightmares--I never told anyone of them. I didn't know how to interpret them. But it... It showed up and now--now I feel like I am beginning to remember something awful." Nyx curses under breath and unties the report's binding.

His hands feel heavy in front of him. The rest of his body is cold, if not pained.

"Is space required?" Candor blinks as he voices the question.

Nyx purses his lips. "...No. I did not consult with you for no reason. Stay--I need to review this. I need you to note any discrepancies from what I told you in the past."

Candor bows his head. "Very well."

claiming to be an interdimensional time traveler that wound up on sornieth from a distant world--the crow is an entity that poses no threat whatsoever to dragons and appears utterly irrelevant to the majority of dragon-life. initially found by the guardian smiles and later adopted into the clan temperance-as well as its successor pendulum-the crow carved out a space for themself in the respective lair at the time. literally--the alien being does not appear to enjoy burdening others with tasks they can do on their own.

while these facts are in of themselves somewhat interesting-or incredibly boring depending on the dragon-the real secrets of crow have yet to be unlocked pertaining to their origins and reason for being on sornieth. attempts to establish consistent and manageable conversation often goes awry as crow is easily distracted by anything from shiny objects, squirrels, to hugging trees and telling the local fauna that they love them all very much. while a discussion can be steered somewhat when with close companions crow is unable to articulate or reply with anything coherent enough to make a sound explanation as to what is their mission-should they have any-and what the world they came from is like. some speculate crow's memory was damaged at some point in the past and thus cannot be accessed even if the construct grants other users permission to access its neurosystem.

when it comes to the 'body' that crow is made up of no dragon on sornieth has yet to identify the materials and substances that compose their form. crow's body can extend and retract segments of appendages as well as unfold inner drawers and components that more or less do not appear to apply to the laws of physics. furthermore attempts to damage crow are quickly fended off not by crow attempting to defend themself but by tiny microscopic organisms-ampere claims they are nanomachines-acting as a self-repair system to reverse and piece together any damage done to the exterior shell. The interior of crow has never fully been determined.

crow's body has survived much damage during their time on sornieth. despite being new to the environments they are extremely durable and adaptive, surviving attempts to annihilate them such as large-scale spells, falling into molten rock, flash blizzards, and being dropped into a category five hurricane. attempts to extract part of crow's body for individual analysis have failed as the self-repair system will kick in upon detecting the slightest hint of damage.

one thing that is highly noticeable to the trained eye is the utter emptiness and scrawny nature of crow's form. the body appears to have had chunks removed in the past and features slots for additional parts to attach to. while initially a theory proposed by ampere--upon being asked if they had dismantled weapons or other augmentations the crow nodded and hopped up and down in a nature akin to a frog. crow refuses all offers of weapons and will dismantle and breakdown objects such as guns, swords, and crossbows when handed them.

crow insists on warning others about hugs. while the construct repeatedly makes claims as to wanting friends and expressing desire to hug them crow will not return affectionate gestures under any circumstances. they claim the 'pressure sensors' built into their appendages have 'fallen off' and that any attempts put forth on their end to hug others will result in someone going splat.
