Being chosen by an ancient element sounded cool to Neo initially. After waking up unconscious and without a clue as to who he was or what he was meant to do the Imperial stumbled upon the knowledge of one of Sornieth's elements of old--Spiral. While utterly useless in most situations and having no relevance in modern-day clan life Neo still takes comfort in knowing that despite his lack of any noticeable presence--on his end, others tend to differ--he has some sort of cryptic purpose relating to an element named after a direction found commonly in the wilds.
To be an emissary of Spiral means he probably has a cool destiny of some kind. According to others he looks the part; Neo is frequently regarded or perceived in ways that misinterpret every tiny fiber of his being: dragons and beasts alike see the Imperial as a rich, haughty individual flaunting off wealth, a brutal warrior or lord feared for power and influence, or a divine scholar whose wisdom goes well beyond his years. Nearly all perceptions of Neo are proven false when the Imperial fails to introduce himself without stammering about and making a mess of both himself and his sweaty hands.
He doesn't know magic. He can't life a sword. While Neo is no established diplomat nor socialite and utterly lacking in any form of wealth he looks good and attracts suitors of all genders frequently who soon find his obliviousness and overall meek nature are a huge turn-off. Neo only likes geometry and shapes and abstract discussions of things that are increasingly related to geometry and shapes and Spirals, though the latter lends to causing confusion as most dragons believe him to speak of the dragon breed opposed to the elder element.
Granted--Neo possesses some knowledge regarding keeping track of finances. His position in Clan Pendulum revolves around proposing budgets, navigating expenses, and ensuring all pennies are accounted for. Though Neo struggles to make much of a mark on others around him he has since found acting as Pendulum's Treasurer provides a semblance of normalcy in the Imperial's otherwise unusually questionable life.
