Perhaps it is prideful, but Eventide keeps a glass case of all his awards, and oftentimes, it needs replacing. He is among the most well-decorated knights of all Nachtischluft, a stalwart warrior who has more than earned his placed at Winterspring's right hand. Since he was a young boy, he knew he wanted to travel the path of knighthood, and as soon as he was able, he applied to be a page in the royal court. Things moved quickly from there; Eventide strove to excel in all matters, even the ones he liked least, such as mucking out the hippocampi stalls. Nothing short of his best effort was acceptable in his mind, and his dedication shone bright to all his superiors. He rose through the ranks quickly, becoming a squire well ahead of his peers, and learning the ways of the blade with dragons much older and larger than himself. He wasn't perfect, of course, and early on in his training, he spent more time in the dust than on his feet, knocked about by the other trainees. But he learned and he grew, and before long, he was making leaps and bounds in his swordsmanship. It's been nothing but a quest for excellence ever since. Eventide believes that his kingdom deserves the very best of his efforts, and to offer any less would be bordering on traitorous. Justice in Nachtischluft requires the best of the best to give everything they gave towards making the kingdom a better, safer place to live, and every award he has ever received is a bright, shiny reminder of that belief. His sword and shield are a reminder of that as well; bigger than most weapons other dragons wield, they take enormous strength to hold, and Eventide has worked tirelessly to earn the right to bear them. They are, above all else, for defending the land he loves. To the surprise of many, though, Eventide has a life outside of his knighthood. When Winterspring gives him leave from his duties, he can often be found wandering the city streets, lending a helping hand wherever he sees it needed. Most of the kingdom knows him well, and many of the residents will invite him in for tea when he passes, then ask him for help moving heavy boxes or translating an order from a foreign customer. His favorite place to help, though, is at the local bestiary. There are a great deal of abandoned familiars there, and not nearly enough dragons to take care them at once. At least once a week, sometimes more, he can be found cleaning up after new familiars, helping promote adoptions, and sometimes just playing with the ones that need socializing. He's most fond of the Capricats that come in now and again, since they have such exuberant, playful natures. It's a shame that some of his fellow knights have allergies, or he would take one home in a heartbeat. Even award-winning bringers of justice can't resist those eyes. Bio by Tues. |
