Beacon

"Beacon" lives in a small stone cottage on the steep outcropping above Turquoise Bay. She quite enjoys her solitary life and spends most her free time reading books and creating fiber crafts from the wool of her pet sheep. Ofcourse, her name is not actually Beacon, it's simply a name given to her by the local dragons. She's fine with it, prefers it even, she rather not waste her energy on small talk with them anyway. Only few know her actual name.

While the lone nocturne enjoys her remote location, the purpose of the place is not merely solitude, but a high vantage point to make spotting oncoming trouble easier. She alerts nearby settlements of impending weather and whenever ships approach, she makes contact and confirms they are who they claim to be. If all is well, she and her sprite will guide them through the inlet, with it's jagged rocks and treacherous shallows, into cove below. The two know the local waters and all their dangers intimately and without their aid, a crew could easily perish.

Over the years she has collected quite a large library of maps of the area, and wherever she finds the collection lacking, she creates her own.
