Nightshine

She the middle child of Guardien quintuplets. She didn't really enjoy all the attention, or lack of. Her elder siblings called her to young, and her younger ones constantly annoyed her. This drove her to leave.

The tangled wood seemed to be a nice place to leave to, as most dragons tended to avoid it for some reason. It was bad to them, but good for her. The problem with being from the ice feild though, was that everything was north. With no knowledge of where exactly the woods were, she flew just flew north. So far north that she landed in Dragonhome.

"Excuse me, could you tell me where the tangled woods are located?" She would ask dragons. To her dismay, they would all do the same thing. Shake their head and say,
"It's a bad idea to go there."

She didn't give up. She kept asking. No one would give her an answer until she came across a mirror dragon.
"I'm heading there, someone told me of a nice place. You could join me."
She had seen some time without a charge. It was at this moment that she had found one.
"You will be my charge."
"Um, my name is Mothwing?"
He looked confused st the concept, so she elaborated.
"You Mothwing will be the charge of me, Nightshine."
She could have sworn he said that Nightshine was a pretty name, but ignored it. The next day the two of them set off.

"So why are you going to the tangled woods?"
Nightshine asked him. With a shrug, he replied that his family disowned him for not having their Brit colours.
"I kind of left my family. Being the middle child isn't really the best, and I hated the attention or lack of."
The two of them kept flying and looking at the scenery below them as Mothwing stopped and looked below.
"This is the tangled woods I believe."
Landing, they then joined the clan.

The two of them had officially become mates. Their three soon to be born hatchlings were about to be born when Mothwing pulled her aside.
"Have you heard of the recent news? The region needs more volunteers to help serve the Shadowbinder. I was thinking that, maybe one of our children could maybe go. They would be older, by the time, but for the good if the region..."

After some convincing, she agreed that the youngest child would leave. Mothwing was her charge and if he wanted that to happen, she would let it. When he was born, she couldn't help but realize he would soon be leaving.

"We should name him Junglevine. At least he will go out with a name, be our pride." The name fit him well so it was decided on.



He was scheduled to leave mid week of that week, and while he completely understood, she could tell that he didn't want to go either.

I'm letting him go for the Twilight Circle, for the Shadowbinder, and for my charge. I need to do this.

By doing this however, she didn't know hat her second born would cause such a scene.

"I don't want to have a charge! I wanna live freely!"
He complained. He was almost jelouse of his brother. Nightshine tried make him feel more appreciative that he didn't go, but that just didn't work. The he kept complaining.
"Other dragons don't need a charge, I don't want one!"

Other dragons? I think I have a solution.

Stormwater had spoken of a currently all Guardien clan in the region to the west. While Mothwing insisted he could stay, Nightshine knew what to do. It had to be done. So her second born, Fernlight would go to that clan.



Knowing that their eldest and now only child would have been heartbroken if this had happened earlier than now, she could help but feel regret.

"Mothwing, if we ever have children again..."
"Then they will not suffer the same mistakes."

Neither were talking about keeping the children, just making sure they would all be loved.
