Opal is a naturally kind dragon towards anything living. Plants, animals, other dragons, even Beastclan members. Because of this trait, she decided to become both a Healer and a familiar Vet.

She got her name from her unusually shiny scales. She's highly iridescent, and, in the right light, she can briefly blind other dragons. It's not a very helpful trait, but many dragons complement her on how shiny her scales always are. Some even say that some of her scales are actually made out of opal, but that's not true. They're just really, really shiny.

Opal's only child, Xelu, has been trusted with all the secrets and lore of the Shadow flight. Sometimes he gets too excited and starts rambling about what he read today to his mother. Opal saves this information in her head for later, just in case.

Opal takes care of the Serpentas in the clan, and has fully befriended one of them. She hopes to befriend all of them, and she also hopes that someday she can find an antidote for Acid-Tongue Serpenta venom. She has, so far, befriended the following Serpentas:
Serpenta

Her frogs are much more than just pets. She is learning about how they defend themselves from attackers with poison so she can find out a way to counter-act it. While most of the poison is no problem for dragons, carnivorous familiars are in danger from some frogs if eaten. She wants to minimize that danger.

Finally, Opal hopes that she can make Yuyae less grumpy. This is the most difficult goal for her yet. She made him laugh once. She counts that as its own victory.
