In the clear cloud free night sky above where the full moon filled the earth with its radiance, a bundle of bloody feathers swirled into existence out of what few clouds wisps there were. The feathers opened to first reveal a white, bony snout. Then as the two sides of the feathers further separated to reveal a dark slit, a white head poked out, followed by a dark, cloth covered neck.

What was soon revealed to be a dragon slowly, almost ethereally, drifted down so that the jack o lantern at the front of the long, winding pathway could only just illuminate a stark white skull that seemed to bob along the path slowly as it neared the entrance of the lair it was approaching.

If there were to be any onlookers of this strange creature, they would only see a dark silhouette against the light of the moon. As the creature glided under the shade of a towering tree, it almost seemed to disappear from view, and it would have had if not for the faint light shining of the skull.

The dragon raised a limb to knock.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

The dragon lifted her hat so that the welcomer could see her face and her eyes that shone white in the dim light.

Whispering quietly she said,
" Trick or Treat "
