Pegasus

Pegasus is a kind and gentle caretaker from the heights of the Behemoth. Even from hatching, she watched over the other hatchlings like a guardian angel, creating flower beds for them to sleep in with every gentle step of her feet, teaching them to be kind and loving, and making toys and decorations for them out of her feathers.

As she grew into an adolescent, and then into an adult, she found her skills become less and less necessary. The land, and the Gladekeeper, kept a good watch over Her children, so Pegasus didn't need to. She realized she needed to go somewhere where her skills as a nurturer were necessary. She said goodbye to each and every hatchling she had ever raised, and set off to find someone who needed help raising their hatchlings.

She travelled deep into the Shifting Expanse, and encountered a young couple, new mates, raising their first clutch—Screechfang and Skytail, and their first two hatchlings, Rose and Yaz. Pegasus approached the pair, and they welcomed her and her skills as a caretaker and nurturer. They had never raised hatchlings before, and Pegasus' skills were like a gift from the Stormcatcher Himself.

Rose eventually journeyed away to serve the Stormcatcher, and Yaz stayed with an ally clan before serving the Windsinger, but Screechfang and Skytail allowed Pegasus to stay, welcoming her with open arms. When their second clutch arrived—Ferning, Sylphide, and Ebrilawen—Pegasus raised them, too. As time went on, the three went off to serve the Stormcatcher, but Pegasus stayed.

Pegasus could hardly remember being anything but a Lightning dragon. As far as she is concerned, she has only ever been a member of the Clan of the Striking Bolt. She remembers every hatchling she has ever raised, and keeps in contact with all of them. For those of them with more distant parents, she is more of a mother to them than their actual parents ever were.
