Shimmer is usually found by the side of her mate, Emperor, but when she isn’t, she’s excitedly talking to anyone she can and making as many friends as possible. She’s overly friendly and cheerful, and finds pleasure in companionship and glamour. She loves beautiful things, especially clothing and art, and thinks the highlight of living is finding beauty in every corner of the world. In her mind, cleanliness is not next to godliness: aesthetic is. There is not a dragon in the clan who has been left untouched by Shimmer’s generosity and kindness — or who hasn’t found their bedding “beautified” against their will.

But Shimmer does not have bad intentions by any stretch. She truly believes that beauty makes the world go around, and that what she does, regardless of consent, is necessary for the betterment of the world. And she believes that she was placed on this world for the sole purpose of bettering it. So, she rearranges things and adds her own touches to everything and does whatever she deems necessary to make all things beautiful to her standards.

Despite adding her unwanted touches to things, Shimmer is a well-loved member of the clan. Her mate, Emperor, is highly esteemed in the clan, and so constantly being by his side has given Shimmer her own place of importance in the clan. She spends a lot of time with her very best friend, Snowshine, and the two are an inseparable pair and a key source of gossip within the clan. And when one finds their bedding modified against their well, the proper course of action is to sigh, smile, and know that Shimmer didn’t mean any harm by it. She never does.

Shimmer’s biggest flaw, besides how much her “beautification” comes across as a nuisance, is her jealousy. If she sees something beautiful that lies outside of the realm of possibility for her, the thought of it consumes her until either the thought eats her alive, or the object of her obsession is destroyed. And she is completely, entirely convinced that Emperor had another mate when he worked for the Icewarden, someone who might come back into his life to steal him away from her.
