Biography

Skytail
Skytail is Screechfang's beloved mate, consort, and closest confidant. She was raised alongside other orphaned Tundra hatchlings of all flights by a kind and loving, but lonely, Tundra who had lost her own hatchlings, who created her own clan of Tundra orphans to satisfy her yearning for her own children. They were the Children of Ceres, named after their foster mother, and Skytail never knew a day without the happiness and company of her foster siblings. It was a good life, always with playmates, warmth, and food, but Skytail wanted more. She wanted to see beyond the land they lived in, and she wanted the loving company of dragons outside of her foster family. She said farewell to her adoptive mother and siblings, and set off to find her way.

She journeyed all the way to the Shifting Expanse, where she happened upon a young Guardian searching for a home and his Charge, and his companion, an annoying, chittering sparkling goblin named Joules. The Guardian introduced himself as Screechfang in an incredibly loud, screeching voice, making Skytail immediately realize the origins of his name. Skytail was apprehensive at first; his companion was incredibly annoying, and she had only shared company with other Tundras before. But she agreed to join him on his search.

As the two of them travelled along, accompanied by Joules (to Skytail's chagrin), Skytail grew to like Screechfang. He wasn't very smart, but he was funny when he tried to be smart. Skytail had to practically force him to eat his vegetables, and she found his resistance to plants almost endearing. He had a kind heart for creatures smaller than him, and seemed desperate to impress Skytail.

Eventually, the three traveling companions found a crevice in the side of a cliff for themselves, and declared it home. The cool nights Screechfang and Skytail spent entangled together only grew their affection for each other, until they declared each other to be their mate. At first, it was just Joules and the loving young pair, and soon after, their first hatchlings, but little by little, their clan expanded; the loving Pegasus, the wise Emperor, and so on, until they had made their crevice a home.

It has been a great many years since then, and the Clan of the Striking Bolt flourishes. Skytail remains a constant motherly presence, and her tongue always provides sweet and comforting words to those who need them. She loves her many children, even those who have left the Clan to forge their own path, and Skytail, having once experienced this for herself, will always encourage them in their endeavors, but will also remind them how welcome they are at home.

Skytail is kind and sweet and gentle, but diplomatic and brave. She is not afraid to argue with even the biggest members of the clan, and always vouches for the peaceful option. Some say that as she is the force behind Screechfang and is thusly the true leader of the Clan of the Striking Bolt, but she gently but firmly refuses this title; as far as she is concerned, Screechfang is a good leader as long as he has her guidance, and that's all the Clan needs.

Pelethe
Pelethe is a harpy who comes from a nearby flock, who made the decision to stay with the Clan of the Striking Bolt and experience a draconic lifestyle for herself. She is calm and wistful, and usually stands by Skytail’s side as a friend and advisor. She always accompanies Skytail on diplomatic missions, and additionally serves as a translator between harpies and dragons. Besides accompanying Skytail, she may also journey alongside the harpy ambassador Myriad.
