Biography
Mournewind
Mournewind is her mother’s daughter; all her life, she has been by her mother’s side, carrying a basket of herbs or crushing a poultice. She takes care of many of the lesser tasks that Xenthosia and Perdix are too busy actually healing to take care of, such as sweeping out the den or keeping their herb storage at the right moisture level. Mournewind is happy alongside her mother and her mate, and is prepared to spend the rest of her life by their sides.
…Or so things were, once. Nowadays, most dragons go to a more modern healer to get their wounds or diseases treated. And Mournewind’s poor elderly mother has grown bitter and lonely. The tasks that she and Perdix once lacked the time to take care of are now all they can do to keep themselves busy. The healer’s den is the cleanest in the lair, but it is also among the emptiest.
But Mournewind stays by the sides of her mate and her mother. Mournewind holds out hope that dragons will learn to appreciate the old ways of healing rather than the new, more modern ways, and that the healer’s den will once again bustle with life as it used to. But until then, Mournewind stays vigilant, and works to keep expanding the repertoire of poultices, tonics, and other medical bundles of the healer’s den.
Mournewind doesn’t want to say she hopes they get to use it someday. Nobody wants an outbreak of plague or a battlefield. But secretly, she hopes they get to use it someday. When their storage is empty, Mournewind knows the three of them will be happy again.
