Skia is the shadow with no caster, the chill on your neck, and the face you can't quite recall. The few dragons that remember him say he is almost impossible to focus on, that the line between his form and his shadow blur together. Some say there is no line. Skia has a faint magic about him, not something he can control, just an aura. It gives him the unique ability to erase himself from the memories of those around him, if he is cautious and doesn't draw attention to himself. There are maybe five dragons in this entire clan that even know Skia lives here. Juliette has noticed the missing books in her library, sometimes a figure in the corner of her eye, but even she isn't quite intelligent enough, or perhaps just interested enough, to recall him. Skia suspects her mate–Shadow, was it?–is more perceptive, at least so perceptive as to retain a distinct memory of the slippery Wildclaw. Shadow doesn't bother him, though, so Skia return the favor. In fact, Skia is pretty sure the hulking dragon leaves books out for him on purpose. Aside from this pair, Skia is only certain of one other dragon aware or his existence: Akouo. Skia is far from a romantic dragon. He is far from a dragon at all, really. But if he ever did envision himself with a dragon, it would be with her. She had first seen him when he was snatching an old favorite from the shelves of the cavernous halls of the library, and she had seen him every time since. Ever the clever guardian pair that spends nearly as much time in the library as him, often missed his darting figure. Invariably, every dragon that noticed him in the past had only done so after he made a noise. But Akouo had seen him without so much as a contented sigh, a muffled curse, or a rustling page. In the weeks following her observation, Skia was extra cautious, eating even less than the sparse scraps he usually stole from the hoard, and making sure to never stray more than one or two aisles from the fantasy section, what he liked to call his "home." It was over a month later, with no further incidents and some of his confidence restored, that he finally ventured back to the rest of the halls. To his horror, and a secret bit of excitement, Akouo was there. . .
