Nuit is a goofy dragon. She has a silly sense of humor, and it shows in her mechanical work. Her favorite creatures to make are miniature dragons, which are simplistic in design, but have incredibly complex inner workings. They are fairly close to sapient, and advanced enough to share their creator's mischievous tendencies. Sleet and Blister are constantly reminding her to keep her critters' antics in check. Unfortunately, she programs them with an inherent respect for only her and her mate, Cyscade. Aside from them, they listen to no one, and since they are at their core simple little mechs, out of sight, out of mind.
Nuit has always wanted hatchlings. However, after she met Cyscade she discovered that she could not produce viable eggs. The pair was heartbroken for a while, but quickly devised a plan. Combining Cyscade's incredible technical knowledge and Nuit's talent for creating life-like consciousnesses, they constructed a mech dragon. It was perfect in nearly every detail. However, it would never grow up as a biological dragon. The happy parents loved their child as they would any ordinary dragon. They decided to name it Iridis.
