Arrix's parents both went to serve the Plaguebringer. Shortly after, his brother Chrono left him, too, joining some strange clan. Arrix was the younger of the two boys, and had always looked up to his hatchmate, despite the older dragon's rather goofy personality. They were very close, especially after their parents left, and once Chrono move away, he felt totally abandoned. His parents had tried their best to make sure he felt loved, and made sure he knew that this was their choice, and reflected nothing on him. However, once they were gone, doubt set in, and he couldn't help but feel it was somehow his fault. At first, Chrono had reassured him, but then even he moved on, and Arrix once again began to feel responsible, and this time his brother only compounded the problem rather than helped. |
Cora, one of the most emotionally sensitive dragons in the lair, noticed his distress and recommended he get a companion to keep him company. He tried to take his mother's animated armor, but the poor animatronic was too damaged itself to help Arrix in any way, and the clan's mechanics were forced to deactivate it, adding even more weight to the young guardian's shoulders. Reluctantly, and only at Cora's insistence, he took on his father's porpoise. He expected to merely suffer another heartbreak, and thus kept himself distant. Over time, though, he allowed himself more leeway, and eventually grew quite attached to the animal. They were both mourning the loss of someone close, and they comforted each other in a way no one else could. |
