Oracle Wise - Exasperated - Patient Luna came to the Burrow prompted by a vision. She is the clan seer and oracle and spends much of her time guiding the other dragons in life decisions. Fading, especially appreciates her advice and will spend many an hour drinking oversteeped tea with her, figuring out what's best for the clan. An advocate of sweets, she'll give anyone a reading for free if they bring some of Patis' chocolates. |

 Luna "Your lucky numbers are...oh dear...bring me some tea and maybe they won't be so terribly unlucky anymore?" There are many dragons, especially for those from the Water Flight, who are born with the uncanny ability to peer into the future. They were called oracles, or seers, and could be seen present in many different clan. A clan without an oracle was considered incomplete, or lesser, by some other dragons. An oracle determined the path of a clan, predicted what disasters may befall, and led their family and friends out of harm's way. Most oracles are often sought out, but this was not so for a certain Arcane seer. Born in the Crystalspine Reach, Luna wanted nothing more than a solitary life, devoid of as much external contact as possible. It wasn't that she disliked other dragons; she simply didn't know how to interact with them altogether. Being Fae was bad enough when it came to expressing emotions, but what made it worse was that Luna was a Living Space Dragon. She was not the first of her kind, but she'd received some of their infamous traits, such as the ability to see and hear things others could not, and sense strange magic. Her wings, like those of her blood, were living cosmos quite terrifying to anyone not from the Arcane Flight. Because of this, it was difficult for her to fit in, so she stayed away from interaction altogether, preferring to ponder what her visions could possibly mean in solitude. However, all came to change on a peaceful night, when a Spiral by the name of Fading ran into her. He'd been dispatched to help a new arcane clan, and had gotten lost on the way. There was no threshold for him to seek shelter from with the exception of Luna's, so reluctantly she took him in. She expected him to be just as polite and distant as her other visitors, but Fading proved to be different. He chatted cheerfully with her and helped her with the chores, and when it was time to go, Luna felt a strange heartache -- the pain of losing a new friend and knowing that she would once again be alone... Then, two night later, she had a vision.

The vision came to her in the form of a dream. She recognized the Crystalspine Reaches from previous visions -- glittering and spectacular. The scenery changed to that of an Arcane clan that lived underground. Even though it was a mere vision, Luna could sense the powerful magic radiating from the earth -- ancient magic. She was perturbed by this, when suddenly she sensed the magic getting stronger. To her horror, a golden light began ripping through the ground. The dragons of the clan scrambled for their lives as their lair was torn apart. A familiar-looking Spiral was attempting to evacuate several hatchlings, only to be buried under a collapse of rock and earth... Luna woke up in cold sweat. She was sure, very sure, that the Spiral she'd seen was none other than Fading. What should she do? She'd never really gotten close to anyone else, and though they'd only spent less than a day together, she didn't know how she would feel if her only friend died. Determined to finally do something instead of sitting around with her visions, Luna decided to set off for the arcane clan she'd seen in her vision. She knew the general direction of where Fading went, but still, that didn't stop her from taking a few (a lot) of wrong turns, at one point where she ended up in the middle of the ocean with no idea how she got there. (She was sitting on a pineapple, which she also had no idea how it got there). Finally, however, with a lot of magical spells, she managed to find the Burrow. The first dragon to greet her was Diami, the reason why the Burrow came into existence in the first place. Luna would've loved to hug the tiny snapper (the cuteness was that irresistible) and weep with joy, but unfortunately, by that time, she was so worn out she could only blink wearily at the Snapper, then promptly pass out. |

By the time she came to, Luna was in the care of Aloe, one of the founders of the clan. Aloe told her about the clan, and how that now Fading was in charge of not running it into the ground, things were working out quite well for the clan. Luna tried to sense impending disaster, but couldn't, which was strange for a vision of doom. Before she could think much about it, Fading came and invited her to tour around the lair with her, which she agreed to. Luna had never been in a clan before, so she was amazed by the general bonds that each clan member had with each other. The atmosphere was so cheery, so friendly, that she fell in love with it immediately. It was so different from what she was used to, but Luna suddenly realized that the warmth of a clan was what she wanted. She didn't want to go back to her gloomy cave; she wanted to stay here, with these dragons, and for once not be alone. "So...now that you've seen everything," Fading said. "Would you like to join us?" Luna didn't even hesitate. "Yes." She said. "This is...where I want to be." |

The clan oracle, Luna is somewhat obsessed with tea, which she considers a miracle substance after Fading introduced it to her. She also adores Patis's sweets and will do almost everything for them...well, actually, only one thing -- readings of the future, which is also, thankfully, is the only thing others bribe her with tea to do. Though Luna initially intended on giving her clanmates free readings, it's nice to know that others expect her to charge tea and crumpets for them. Luna is also a healer, though with dragons like Marengo and Aloe around, she's not called unless something absolutely urgent comes up. She also specializes with dealing with hatchlings, since she can easily see what medication would fix them up by peering into the future. Dangerous experiments often need her approval before being conducted. For this reason, Luna is also a sounding board for Fading when it comes to clan affairs. Though she's only touching on the surface of socializing, many dragons find themselves at ease in Luna's presence. She speaks periodically with Marengo, but is comfortable with giving any dragon life advice if need be. She can most often be found talking to Fading, or simply just enjoying his company. He is, after all, her first and most important friend. Luna is Diami's adoptive mother, perhaps because she senses that strange ancient energy radiating off the small Snapper, but mostly because she adores the little dragon. Diami only shows her insecure side when with Luna, and the Fae does her best to lead Diami in the right direction -- one away from the machine of destruction and death the Earthshaker had accidentally created her to be. Most of the time, though, Luna shows her affection by bringing sandwiches for Diami (and the occasional Gossa) and tucking her in at nights. Luna knows Diami is dangerous, but she isn't afraid of her and accepts the child as she is. She loves Diami with all her heart, and should anyone dare threaten or bully her -- assuming Gossa doesn't retaliate first -- Luna will be there to show the assailant just how emotional a Fae mother could be. The few survivors still refuse to speak of it. Though Luna refuses to admit it, she does have teatime with Haerian, and knows somewhat of Ridgeback's true identity, though it's unclear if she knows Haerian is an immortal entity or if she simply knows that Haerian has an immense amount of magical energy. The two can occasionally be found chatting together, and with what she has learned from Haerian, Luna knows a lot more than she lets on. Luna may or may not be responsible for the clan's migration from the ground and into the air. Rumors has it that she was actually trying to do something else, but when that something else kind of, sort of went wrong, gravity was momentarily disabled and presto! One giant, magical floating island at your service. She wasn't trying to cover up a mistake. She swears. |
