Having left her original clan on the Search, Caliginis traveled across the whole of Sornith, going wherever the winds took her. She found her charge as an egg, and has raised the hatchling as her own. She first encountered the clan when she and her young charge came across a small foraging group along the boarders of the Earth and Nature territories. After following the group for some time, she came forward to offer her assistance, later returning with the group to the clan. After having traveled alone for so many years, she soon realized how much she had missed the company of other dragons, and requested that she and her charge be allowed to join the clan.

While not the most talkative dragon, Caliginis is not unfriendly. Though she comes off as somewhat aloof, she is a willing helper and a jack of all trades, leading her to be sociable when necessary. She is always rather dusty, likely due to her love of sand and dirt baths. One can often find her sunning herself on a large rock, and anywhere she goes her charge is rarely far behind.
