She emerged from her egg in the Sundial Terrace knowing that she had been blessed by the Lightweaver. A divine hand had shaped her being, and so she swore from then on to remain loyal to the Lightweaver and her domain.

She met Machlud, a wary Tundra, at a small hillock near the Terrace. They both formed a deep friendship, and both worked together to form a lair. Soon, Dragons from all origins and corners of the world came to stay, and she oversees their growing home as a benevolent Queen. She had once insisted that Machlud should rule alongside her, as the co-founder of their home, but he refused every time she offered, until he finally snapped in frustration to not ask him again. She hasn’t.

With her group slowly growing in potential and size, she found that being a leader for the small group was somewhat lonely. But then one day, a smaller Dragon, the likes of which she’d never seen before, arrived in a swirl of sea-salt and anguish on the shore near their lair. He is Camael, a Coatl, who fled his homeland for reasons unknown to most. He spent his time isolated from the others, until Heulog confronted him one hot summer’s day. He poured out his story, his fears of exaltation after witnessing generation after generation of his family heed the callings of the Gods, and his fears of growing close to others and losing them in the same way.

Heulog, who had unwavering faith in the Lightweaver since the moment she hatched, was stunned by this. She had always considered being exalted as the highest form of honour, but then she had never considered those left behind.

Despite his fears, they slowly fall into an almost embarrassingly sweet relationship, and Heulog found someone to keep her company in the most solitary role in their clan. She has many children with him, but out of five, only three remained.

Mabli was her heir, and Heulog could not be more proud to watch her daughter grow into a confident, kind Dragon.

Her first son, Rhys, was quiet and a little subdued, and Heulog dismayed when he drew away from his family as he matured. She thought over and over again that he was hiding something, and it wasn't until midway through Mabli's rule that the tension snapped. He left in the dead of the night, but left a note on her desk that merely said, 'I'm sorry.'. What she wouldn't give to ask him why; to know how to have fixed it earlier. How she could have let him know that she would eagerly hear his problems if it meant he didn't have to go.

It couldn't have been a coincidence though that he left as soon as the news broke that she was to have another nest of hatchlings.

It stung that much more when one is exalted within a matter of minutes. It was not the first Hatchling to be claimed in the Lair, so it softened the blow somewhat, but Camael was distraught. They both agreed, however, that their three grown children were enough to continue their legacy.

Soon after meeting Camael, Heulog finds an orphaned Imperial at the edge of their Lair, and immediately realises that her Search had ended. Her Charge was named Nabi, and they were not far apart in age, so they both saw each other as sisters. Nabi lives in the Palace with her wife, Evewern.
