Son of their former matriarch, Aurum is was considered a prince among his clanmates for much of his youth. Even while she was in her prime, they saw how his mother aged with each passing of the moon and each change in the seasons. Aurum was young, yes, but already he walked like a leader among the elders. The clan's best hunters had been taking him on their patrols since he matured, and the warriors had begun to scuffle with him every now and then, showing him how to use his claws and teeth without breaking them. All spoke of how much promise he showed.

Aurum represents his clan's final home after generations of migration from their origin in the Shifting Expanse, to the Southern Icefield, to the Sunbeam Ruins, where they now reside peacefully. His mother would take care in grooming her son to be the glorious leader the clan deserved, for far too long had their environments stunted their growth. She often brought Aurum and the acolytes to speak with knowledgeable philosophers within the ruins and promenade, wishing him to absorb as much information as he possibly could of his new home, the birthplace of imperials. She is proud to see her son relish in the culture and studies of his kind.

Aurum will become as wise as the gods and old as the stars in due time, but today, he is the newly anointed sovereign, still adjusting to the responsibilities of the title. He enjoys keeping his mane longer than what his parents would prefer for him, hiding when his mother or another elder of his clan calls for his grooming before ceremonies. The imperial used to love to loaf around the Mirrorlight Promenade in his adolescence, where young dragons romp about. He met another imperial his age there, Corona, who delighted him with her stories of exploration and various travels as the daughter of dignitaries. The two have been inseparable since.
