► OVERVIEW
"You stand in front of Shadarsia, Sovereign of the Midnight Seclusion, member of the Night's Prudence, Protector of the Four Cities, Warrior of the Sea of Stars-"
"Shut up with the titles already, we'll be here all day."
"Yes, of course. Apologies, My Liege."
"For the last time, my name is Shadarsia. Anyway, traveler, what is the reason for your visit?"
Shadarsia is the current Sovereign of the Midnight Seclusion and the mother of Khimera, Umbra, and Calemvir. She once was known as a fearsome leader with very little tolerance for opposition. Fortunately, in the past years, she seems to have loosened up. Despite this, many dragons still fear her. The majority of respect the sovereign gets is more out of that fear rather than appreciation. But it's generally agreed upon that she has done at least some good for the cities, such as lowering crime rates and improving diplomatic relations.
Not much is known about her past. Before she was elected as Sovereign, she was the General of the clan's military, the Lunar Militants, after serving as one of the soldiers for several years. Back then, she was seen as a strong leader and fighter and was popular among her community. Her popularity faded after building such an intimidating reputation later on, but her combat skill and strategy is still nothing short of admirable to this day. Since the beginning of her reign, those who once threatened the cities have kept their distance. However, as the Sovereign gets older, dragons suspect that those threats will one day return to cause trouble. Many are concerned that when Shadarsia retires or passes on, those enemies will take advantage of her absence. In the end, she's the one they fear, not whoever her successor may be.
► PERSONALITY As the Sovereign, Shadarsia is a strict and hard-working dragon who takes her role very seriously. In recent years, she has allowed herself to be more open to criticism and feedback from others. As a result, she has grown from her previous attitude which involved yelling at those who worked for her and ruling with an iron fist. Every day, she tries to give something back to those who helped her get this far and gave her more chances than she believes she deserves. She doesn't always know how to show her gratitude, though. What dragons don't expect from someone like Shadarsia is her complete disregard for titles and formalities. She dislikes being called "Your Grace" or "My Lady" and will demand that others simply call her by name. This applies to introductions as well. For example, it's usually tradition to list the titles of any important figure to those who address them. When someone stands before Shadarsia on her throne, the Sovereign makes it a point to skip the tradition of announcing all of her titles. "Quit reading every damned word in the Dictionary of Sornieth and let this dragon speak," she'll often say. The Guardian would rather get straight to the point of the matter than waste time with customs that she deems unimportant. That's not to say she has no sense of humor or doesn't believe in fun. Once in a blue moon, she'll take a break and joke. Her family members and friends will often try to convince her to relax, but Shadarsia usually refuses. There are days where she refuses to sleep because there is always something she needs to get done. She doesn't like to ask for assistance with anything (unless it comes to finances, as she is notoriously bad with them on her own). When she does get a break, though, she tends to have a little too much fun. She makes the most out of any time off she does get, perhaps partying too hard if she chooses to attend one. It's as if she's a completely different dragon when she's not working. Her responsible and serious attitude almost fully disappears outside of her duties, and she becomes a loud, excited, and crude party animal. That's likely one of the reasons she doesn't take many breaks, but her family may argue that's the exact reason she should take more breaks. Beyond her duty as a Sovereign and her straight-forward nature (as well as her tendency to party too hard when given the chance), she is a loving parent whose charge is her family. Her children's well-being is of utmost importance to her, and she would do anything for them. She would kill almost any dragon, burn down cities, give her own life, nearly anything if it meant keeping her children safe from harm. Some would say this much importance placed on loved ones is unhealthy and even dangerous, but Shadarsia doesn't see it that way. It would be wrong to assume that she is completely obsessed, though. She cares about her children, but she's not so worried about them that she'll restrict any aspect of their lives. She's well aware that they're fully grown and capable of making their own choices. But as soon as she sees a threat to them, she wastes no time putting herself between the threat and her children. It's also known that Shadarsia doesn't have much respect for the divine. "If the Eleven are real, they're incompetent, idiotic, and behave like a bunch of arguing children. They aren't deserving of our time or effort. If you want to serve Gods that couldn't care less about who you are and only want to use you in their petty conflicts over territory, be my guest. I will take no part in it." She will say these words loud and proud, and if anyone complains to her, she will say, "The Eleven are likely too busy sitting at their shrines and focusing on petty wars with one another to care enough about what a single, puny, insignificant dragon thinks of them. That, or they're not real." |

► RELATIONSHIPS
► STATS & ABILITIES
Physically, Shadarsia is undoubtedly a strong dragon as well as a skilled and seasoned warrior. One swing from her sword is whispered to be powerful enough to chop a fully armored dragon in half. Whether or not that's true can only be determined by your own eyes.
_______________________________________
Though she bears the scars of battle, Shadarsia's hide is tough and armored by itself, as is true of most Guardian dragons. Of course, it's not so strong that she can simply go into a war without it. Even if it were, she'd rather be on the safe side.
_______________________________________
Shadarsia's combat style isn't as flexible as some other dragons. She can fight on ground, air, or sea, using her claws and teeth or her sword. But when a situation requires magic use, she would need a mage to cover that field for her. She has magic as all dragons on Sornieth naturally do, but for her it works best as an enhancer for her attacks.
_______________________________________
Her ability to strategize quickly in the midst of battle has been described as fantastic by others, and she's not without common sense. When it comes to finances or anything to do with numbers, though, Shadarsia has no idea what she's doing. Aside from that, she is smart in her own ways and in certain fields than others. Lack of skill in math doesn't define how smart she is.
_______________________________________
While not the kindest of dragons, she has a way of commanding the respect of those around her. She's been trying to be more respectable as a dragon than scaring others into listening as of late. Her way of doing so is trying to present herself as an equal, pushing past the use of titles and just using names being one of them.

Shadows shifting, purple eyes stare back from the abyss,
Heavy handed, armor plated, swords fall to the clank and spark of metal,
Over time rage and torments quelled, the shadows part
Her passion and spirit set ablaze, a dragon made anew
