Biography
Corail:
"What do you mean you can't think of a better world" some dragon says from behind Corail.
"This world we live in today is filled with lies revealing the truth and the truth revealing the lies. Those truths and lies make up a part of us, and that's why I can't see a better future." Corail states as he fixes his books.
"But what about this world we live in right now? You are happy, right? You just need to get your head out of the books Corail!" The dragon tries to grab at Corail but he shifts out of the way.
"I am perfectly fine with who I am and how I am living in this world I live in."
"But what about me? What about your friends? What about this beautiful place we live in!" The dragon turns him around and screams in his face, "What about the Mistress?! What would she think about you and your attitudes!"
"The Mistress won't approve of anything of what I think, but that's what makes me special. My opinions are my own and no one other than you will know about them."
Corail says as he turns back around to find the dragon gone. He looks forward and then his eye begins to gush blood. A claw digs into Corail's left eye. Corail screams bloody murder as claws begin to drag him away.
Then his vision completely drifts away...
"May the dreamers fly a little deeper into imagination," what does that line actually mean? I read it from an ancient script I found when I was digging through my home. The Mistress was supposed to create me, but I created myself. I came up into this world where I am nothing but a pawn in the Mistress's chess game. I guess the Queen took over the pawn, but she can be taken off the board too. I am born to live in a world I can't actually LIVE in. I want air and sweet embrace. I want to see the trees and the sky and all of the things the elders told me about. I want to see the light of the sun and the brightness of the moon.
I want to live.
So, he takes a breath.
His eyes flash open, pink hues glowing behind his eyelids. He coughs up water, drowning without even touching the water. Corail blinks and slowly begins to grasp the ground. He looks at the grass with awe. He moves his eyes to the crystal blue sky, to the sun, to the world he has been thrown into. He feebly begins to stand, but his wings seem to drag him down still. Half of his vision is gone, blind in the left eye. He places a claw to his eye and rubs over the dried, crinkled blood. He drags himself over to a purple crystal and looks at himself. His wings were clawed up, his skin pale, but the worst part was his eye. His eye was half shut, cut between the middle from a claw that dug into too hard. Dried blood was the only thing that remained in place of his eye.
"Holy gods"
The mental image of his face haunts him. He tries to cry, but he is so dehydrated that no tears fall down his cheeks. He looks again at the crystal and sees something begin to fall from the sky in the reflection. He turns around, lifting a claw to prevent sunlight from burning his eyes. The shape falling from the sky looks blue, a soft glow wrapping around the shape. Flames begin to spark as Corail heard whistling from the shape about to crash into the water. It was so far away, maybe even too far to fly with his ripped up wings.
The shape crashed into the water with a large boom. Corail couldn't believe what he saw. Maybe it is an asteroid? I don't remember them being so common. Corail, still very weak, begins to stand on his hind legs, receiving help from his wings to try and stand. He climbs up a small crystal, trying to get a better view of where the shape landed.
Corail curses when he realizes it is a lot harder to see when you are blind in the left eye. He climbs down from the spike and walks to the water. He washes off his wings. They burned every time the salt water connected with dried blood. When he was done washing off the dried blood, he stood up.
He looks over in the direction of where the shape fell, and begins to fly ever so slowly.
