Baus hatched in the After, but every clutch is told about Before.

Once, not all that long ago, the Clan survived as best it could. The groves and thickets of Starwood Strand were home, but every day was a new chance at a quick end. Faithless Beastclans, hungry Mirrors, rookery collapse, ley line shifts - life was paw to mouth, and something something I need to read that bit of Thunderdome dialogue (Two fae enter! One fae leaves!)

And then came Spud, and After began.

Should include: hilarious misconception by the fae about the search which explains the constant outside dragon arrivals and familiars, life when you're eating goliaths rather than vice versa, the wonder of nesting in hippogriff tail down (sap is for suckers), Exotic Insects From Abroad, having multiple guardian gladiators to a) give you lifts to the trading post b) win the fights you pick with Dragons Bigger Than You c) carry anything you can think of home d) bring back random homeless hatchlings to raise as their own and have more faithful giant minions e) points a through d but bigger and better in a constant cycle of escalation
