It's he who decides which groups go where, some sent to trek the borders and watch for enemy clan interlopers, others sent to investigate areas where there have been sightings of Beastclan intruders. He demands the utmost vigilance and obedience from all the guards under his command, with little tolerance for fooling or joking, and harsh punishments issued to those who neglect their duties. Some of his guards whisper behind his back that he's stiff-necked and hidebound, and his devotion to discipline is going to spark a rebellion one day, but they never dare say it to his face. He is a ferocious fighter, even in a clan where every dragon receives at least some warrior training regardless of their duties. Those who have challenged his authority did not get off lightly.

He holds himself to even higher standards than he holds for the rest of the dragons under his command, always leading more patrols and taking more shifts than he would ask any others to do. A warrior of the old school, he considers it his duty to be first into battle and never retreat, who truly believes in the call to come back with your shield or on it. While the whole of the clan is deeply religious, he is one of the first that arrives to join the Matriarch in her daily devotions to the Flamecaller. He considers the three most important figures in his life to be the Flamecaller, his Matriarch, and his mate, Tesona. He's widely considered to be the perfect other half for the equally fierce and authoritative ridgeback. Although he finds it frustrating that she uses her position as second in command to send him off on patrol when a battle promises to be nearby, it is perhaps the one thing in his life he's ever been willing to bend to, knowing that she does it out of love for him and a desire to keep him safe.
