Biography
Sevim's egg was left in an alleyway in the Driftwood Drag. She was found by a thief on the day she hatched, and he took her in. This dragon became a parent to the young guardian and taught her the only thing he knew; crime. She showed great skill in manipulation even at a young age, but she never kept trying for a mark when violence became a likely outcome. Because of this she was extremely careful, always disengaging when her lie started to fail, but also staying persistent when she felt she could get away with it. She became very well known in darker circles as Sevim, a name meaning charmer. Because she never forcefully took anything, she was given items or coins by dragons who trusted her. Since no dragon knew what Sevim looked like and because she never used the same name on two different marks, she was able to apply her craft largely without interruption from other thieves or the authorities.
Sevim was very good at what she did but wished that she could live without having to hide, without lying to every dragon she met. Knowing this about her, Sevim's surrogate father gave her a fair sum of money -most of his savings -to pay for her to go to a prestigious school in the Starfall Isles. Far enough away that no dragon has a chance of recognizing her. Sevim was touched by this gesture and promised to pay him back the moment she could, despite his reassurances that repayment was not required.
Sevim was not a great academic student, but she excelled in practical application. She also displayed skill in magic, although she would never be a master. During her time in the school she tended to not want to be noticed because being seen gets you caught, which led her to have only one real friend; her roommate Nargacuga. Nargacuga was highly skilled in academics, but often struggled with application. Because of this the two guardians worked together often, and even when the work was over they still enjoyed the time spent with one another. Even though Nargacuga was fairly social and Sevim preferred to blend into the shadows, their friendship flourished. To the point that when they graduated and Nargacuga began her travels across Sornieth, the two continued to stay in touch through routine correspondence.
While Nargacuga was traveling, Sevim found a job working at a market. She learned that her ability to organize combined with her former practice of manipulation made her a skilled manager. She went from working at the market to preparing and organizing it very quickly. It was in that role she stayed until Nargacuga returned to the Starfall Isles and asked Sevim to join her in creating a clan, a clan where the past only mattered as much as one wanted it to.
Special thanks to ArkWalker for the wonderful art (which was drawn before I changed her primary gene).
