Jewel is a reformed thief and false prophet, retired to Zilikia where she can relax and catch some sun on the beaches. She is worldly and composed, once smug and cruel, now softened like glass in the tides. Easy to spot, Jewel is consistently immaculately dressed and accessorized, her jewelry glinting in the sun, chiming gently against itself in a sirensong, pretty but dangerous.
Originally raised by a band of thieves, Jewel used to have the world at her feet. She never worked for anything, stealing and lying her way to greatness. She masqueraded around as a prophet, tearing clans apart with false prophecies while robbing them blind. Her greatest heist, however, is the one she pulled on her own family. She took everything from them in the dead of night and ran, never to be caught or seen again. (She’s sure they’re out there, looking for her. But she’s long since stopped caring.) Her doom came when she tried to steal from The Gilded King Midas of Kage no Sekai. She’d thought her plan foolproof, but in the end she’d been caught and brought before Kage no Sekai’s leader, Nargacuga. Stripped of all her treasures, Jewel was sentenced to work in the kitchens until Nargacuga deemed her lesson learned. Jewel, surprising herself and everyone else, quickly took to the work, growing to enjoy the steady action of preparing food. She learned that there was more to life than lies and trickery, and made several friends around the clan. She eventually left, having filled her sentence and more. She moved around for a while before settling into a small diner in Flotsam Town, where she's the primary cook. |
