Biography

Arien
|| Elemental Sage ||
The Ambassador of Shadow

One of the many Elemental Sages of the Ushal Temples, Arien is the primary caretaker of the Temple of Shadow. In his youth, he was a fodder hatchling, destined to be sold and offered as a tribute to the Gods. But even as a hatchling, he knew his destiny lay elsewhere. He escaped the auction house, wandering through the Tangled Wood. When he came upon the Temples, he was immediately noticed by Gabi, the Headmaster, who knew in his heart that this hatchling had the blessings of the Shadowbinder upon him.

Arien is now the head of the Temple of Shadow, along with his collegue Rhianwen. Despite the reputation of shadow dragons among these lands, Arien is far from sneaky or manipulative as most tend to expect. He is very sweet, polite, and dearly loves the temple and the Deity he serves. Gabi tends to favor Arien when it comes to diplomatic matters, as the grey tundra seems to have a knack for persuasion. Perhaps there is a bit of manipulativeness in him somewhere, although it shows itself in the form of polite and civil discussions.

Arien is no stranger to the increased violence among the surrounding lands. An attack on the Ushal temples by Valentine's forces left him gravely wounded. He only survived due to the aid of a local healer, Luna. Arien had to stay among the healers for a while before his wounds healed, and during that time, he and Luna became very close friends. Although she lives a good distance from the Temples, she comes to visit every once in a while, and often write to each other when they are apart. Due to his duties as a Sage, Arien cannot travel, so he always looks forward to the visits of his friend.

Gabi has been worried as of late. The Temples had never been attacked before; most dragons have respect for them, they've never needed to worry about a full-scale attack in their lives. But since Valentine's troops had raided them, the Headmaster took the greatest precautions he could to try and keep the Temples safe. The Sages must be trained in combat, scouts would be sent out for information. He was even contemplating building a wall around Ushal. Arien disagrees with this; the Temples have always been free... but he understands Gabi's worry. He prays to the Shadowbinder for guidance, hoping that his home will be safe.

The five looked him over, though the imperial and the snapper bowed their heads out of politeness. "Hm, a tundra... Though, the fairies are nice." Autumn mutters, letting out an annoyed huff. Helena simply sent him a smile, keeping her mouth shut.

"H-Hello sir.." The imperial softly states, sending him a tiny wave and a nervous smile. It seems Esther doesn't find him too scary. "Ah! It's nice to see a male with manners every so often!" Alina comments, adjusting wristlets. Pearl sent him a warm, friendly smile. "It is lovely to meet you, sir." The snapper says with an almost motherly tone. It seems Alina, Esther, and Pearl like Arien.
