 B I O G R A P H Y ____________________________ ___As a youngster, Benji only dreamed of "better". A better home, a better understanding, a better life... it didn't matter what it was, it wasn't good enough. He needed more, and he couldn't find it in the Glade. The Glade was over-crowded, and his parents were so busy with his sister and brother, that nobody really noticed that he wanted to leave home. Only his mother noticed his distress, and she encouraged his curiosity and, in the end, his departure. So, he kissed his mother goodbye, and he went looking for something, anything, that he could feel better about. ____It didn't take long for him to stumble across an alcove in the desolate wastelands belonging to the Plaguebringer. He knew he shouldn't have come here, as a Gladeling, he should have an ingrained hatred of this place, but something called to his soul. ____Upon locating the hidden alcove, a large Guardian brute stalked out from behind the rocks and began sniffing him. Granted, Benji was still a child, it's only natural for the beast to be curious about him landing on his doorstep. This thing looked like a zombie, or something, and didn't seem to speak. Instead, it appeared to place images and words in his head, as a form of communication. That's all he could assume when the name "Chief" appeared in the back of his head like a whisper on his nape. Chief proceeded to nudge him with his nose, pushing him towards where the brute had appeared from moments earlier. What happened next went by in a flash, and is still difficult for him to comprehend. ____As they entered the alcove, a large brood of varying sizes and breeds, even flights, swarmed him. They were so loud, everyone cheering, chatting, and for some reason, trying to touch him. He squealed out of fear and tried to scamper backward, only to be stopped by Chief's giant face nuzzling into his side. Once the others noticed he was scared, they all quieted, and a beautiful Fae stepped forth to address him, and the rest of the clan. ____"We're terribly sorry to have frightened you, child, we mean you no harm. We're merely thrilled to finally meet you." ____Benji stared at her, unable to comprehend what she meant by "finally". He was only a few days from the nest, how could they have known about him? ____"I can see you're confused; let me introduce myself. I am Pixie, the Matriarch of the Bubonic Wastes clan. I am going to be the one to teach you how to lead this clan for yourself. I'm sure this sounds terrifying, and I don't mean to upset you, but it was told by Hollow that you would come to us on this day, and relieve me of my duties when you grow." ____With each passing day, Benji learns more and more, even now that he's the official leader of the clan. After some time, he realized that some of his traits seemed to change, and it always seemed to coincide with a profound lesson learned. He's sure that once he's learned all he needs to know to lead this clan to its fullest potential and nestle his brood under the wing of his new mother, he will be complete, and he will have achieved "better".
