  Ylva and her younger sibling, Varg, joined the clan as refugees. They managed to escape from the Sunbeam Ruins during the Emperor dragon attack. Being the eldest sibling, she was the one who lead their escape. Ylva remained unscathed, but Varg was injured by the crumbling buildings. He survived, but his wings were damaged beyond salvation - he became flightless. Being a Skydancer, this was a tragedy, and Ylva will forever blame herself for it.

Upon arriving to the lair borders, and being eventually accepted into Nidhogg, Ylva wasn't exactly free of prejudice towards Plague dragons. Being a dragon in touch with her Light flight origins, she studied them, and quickly learned that they're not mere barbarians. She admires the adaptability of Plague dragons.
Not too long after becoming an adult, Ylva began working as the undertaker of the clan. She prepares deceased dragons for burial, and organizes burial ceremonies. Clan members consider her ceremonies as indeed a beautiful way to honour the deceased. In her mind, it's important to celebrate the life lived.

Ylva is in a romantic relationship with Akuma. The two are deeply in love with one another, and are more often than not seen together. Akuma lifts her spirit's up when she's feeling low, or when she's dwelling on the past. Ylva is a voice of reason and balance for Akuma. Her mate and her brother are Ylva's most valued things in life, and she's highly protective of both of them.
