______ She knew that Nanna was not the name she had been given by her parents. But as hard as she tried to remember her name, she could not. What she could remember was the sound of waves crashing against the shore when the water rose. The deep blue colour of the giant tidal pools and the shoals of brightly coloured fish swimming in them. And the faint smell of mouldiness in the air. Nanna had been born in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. But it had been a very long time since she had wandered the tidal pools and silty sands of her birth place. She had been happy back then, that much she remembered. Why she left home had slipped her mind. But when she did, she started to collect all the stories, tales and sagas she was told while wandering through Sornieth. She ranged the Scared Wastelands, listening to stories of disease and fights for survival in the unforgiving environment. On the Starfall Isles she learned about the mysteries of the universe and how the stars foretold the future. When she moved on to the Southern Icefield, she nearly died of the cold and almost forgot what it felt like to be warm. But she was mesmerised by the fossils and artefacts preserved in the ice. They told tales of a long-forgotten past and animals that were long extinct. Finally, she moved on to the Windswept Plateau. It was a very peaceful land and the gentle breezes tempted her to spread her wings more than once. But she was a snapper and thus denied the gift of flying. The dragons of the Windswept Plateau were warm and welcoming. Nanna was fascinated by the tales of the origin of the Twisting Crescendo, a powerful storm that had been raging for thousands of years. Eventually, she moved on to the Ashfall Waste. The constant rain of ashes and acid smokes emerging from the volcanos were a constant plight. But she was intrigued by the metalworkers' craftsmanship and how they forced rare metals into magnificent pieces of art. In the Shifting Expanse she experienced technology for the first time in her life. She saw electricity powered strange machines but the land itself was arid and barren and made her longing for more welcoming surroundings. So she moved on to leave the desert behind her. When she finally reached the Sunbeam Ruins, she was warmly welcomed by the dragons living there. The dragons of the Sunbeam Ruins were fascinated by her long voyage and eager to hear everything about her journeys. And Nanna was likewise fascinated by the ancient ruins and secrets they concealed. So she stayed there for a very long time, exploring the crumbling structures and researching the stories concealed by these ancient ruins. When the urge to move on finally became too strong, everyone was sad to see her leave and anxious for her well being as she was not a young dragon anymore. Her descent into the misty lowlands of the Tangled Woods was arduous. But the softly glowing plants and mushrooms made up for it. Faeries and firebugs were her companions in the murky woods and she had never seen such delicate and beautiful creatures before. The dragons she met were reserved and mystical but loved to play games. She enjoyed her journey through the lands that were wrapped in eternal darkness but was also glad when she eventually ascended to the Shattered Plain, entering Dragonhome, the lands of the Earthshaker. It took some time until her eyes had adjusted to the bright light again. But when she saw the Pillar of the World in the distance for the first time, she was overtaken by awe. Dragonhome was only sparsely populated but the lairs carved in the stone were said to be the oldest of all dragonkind. Their walls were covered with ancient cave-paintings telling stories of archaic rituals and feasts performed by the Gods and their followers in times long-forgotten. Finally, Nanna moved on the last region of Sornieth she had not visited. Her eyes had become dull and her steps had lost the spring of her youth. She was moving slowly as the pain in her limbs had become more severe and she tired easily. Eventually, Nanna arrived at the lush green jungles of the Viridian Labyrinth. Everything was bursting with life here. She enjoyed the soft humid breeze that smelled of flowers and the constant sound of buzzing insects and birds singing. At the heart of the Viridian Labyrinth was the Behemoth, the gigantic tree towering over the green maze of the Gladekeeper's realm.

______ When Nanna stumbled across the ruins of an ancient settlement, she knew that her journey had finally come to an end. She had visited all regions of Sornieth, seen the all wonders of the different flights and her head was filled with stories from every corner of the world. Now she was tired and exhausted and this would be her final resting place. However, her peaceful rest did not last very long as the ancient settlement known as the Forgotten Sanctuary was soon filled with life again. But Nanna did not mind. She had expected to die here, but instead she found a new purpose. The dragons were eager to hear her stories about her journeys, hatchlings were captivated by her tales and so she passed her knowledge on to others. Nanna became a valued member of the clan and they cared for her when her eyesight worsened more and more and the pain in her legs prevented her from taking long walks. She now only travelled in her mind to all the different places she had visited but it was enough for her. Because she had finally found her home and her urge to wander the world had left her for good.
