 "All things truly wicked start from innocence." -Ernest Hemingway As cruel as she is breathtakingly beautiful, Odette specialises in blood, eldritch, chaos magic. You name it, if it's banned by most clans and punishable by death in others, she's likely already learned and mastered it. Knowledge is power, after all, and to be in possession of something so potentially dangerous and forbidden lends a certain thrill to it all. It means that few others truly know what she is capable of, and more importantly, fewer still know how to stop her. It means that as long as she's careful enough, she can do as she pleases with little repercussions. It means that there are no rules, no limits, and no one to tell her, enough. She's killed, of course. One simply cannot come cross this sort of power without having had to make a sacrifice of some sort. She walks with a slight limp; look a little closer at her flank, and you'll notice a rune, foreign and ink-dark, carved into her hide. Her claws are irreversibly stained black, and they'll never be as steady as they once were again. Not to mention the countless of innocent lives she has taken just to obtain some scrap of information, just to get a little closer to her end goal. Dragons thinking of confronting her should keep this in mind: don't. She may not look dangerous-- Gladekeeper knows, her gaunt face and slight proportions don't instill much fear in her enemies-- but her true strength lies deep within, behind blank, unseeing eyes and a crooked smile. |
ORIGINS. Raised in a peaceful clan in the Everbloom Gardens, her childhood was as normal and as happy as a hatchling's could be. This is all that is known of her past. Attempt to pry any further, and she'll rip your tongue out.
So no other living, breathing dragon knows that when she was still a hatchling, impressionable and naive, her clan was burned to the ground by raiders. Her parents were killed in the massacre, as were most of the clan's members. She was lucky to escape with her life.
As to why she is so driven to master magic this dark and forbidden, no one has ever found out. But on nights when the moon is but a sliver in the inky sky, she returns to the site of the incident, wills forth every ounce of the magic within her and dredges up every bit of knowledge she has taken pains to understand as she tries, tears in her eyes, to bring back the only family she has ever known.
TRAITS. Aesthetic -- cold blood, cold flesh. desperation, bile-bitter and frantic, clawing its way up your throat. If this world has an afterlife, she will drag herself to paradise.
Likes -- being left to her devices, given new test subjects, seeing her family again.
Dislikes -- nosy dragons, showing off.
