MITHRA
a summer river demigoddess
________________
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Mithra was born in the Mirrorlight Promenade, near the border between Shadow and Light, while her parents were on a journey through the local forests. While Aruna and Altwidus usually leave their eggs in safe spots to hatch on their own or care for them for a short time before sending the hatchlings off, there was something special about Mithra. A crack, to be specific, in the shell of her egg shortly after she was born. Her usually-flighty parents worried; would Mithra even survive long enough to hatch? They remained in the Promenade for several days, Aruna carefully guarding the cracked egg until little Mithra was finally ready to come out.

Mithra burst through her eggshell in the early afternoon sun, bright rays of light keeping her warm as she spread her tiny wings for the first time. She was a feeble hatchling, unsteady in her movements and weak, but with loud cries when it came time to eat. After a short debate, Aruna carried little Mithra back to Shadow lands to be raised in the Temple, unlike any of her siblings before her.

It was in that same home that Mithra met Cyneric, one of her father's worshipers. She was the one who pursued and courted, coaxing Cyneric to spend time with her in the tea shop every time he came to pray at the temple. The male was reluctant at first- it's not every day a god's daughter chases after you- and sought a blessing from Altwidus. When he received it he gradually but happily settled down.

Mithra is a summer river demi-goddess. Her mood is like a stream that's carved its path through stone; calm, but constant. She is even-tempered, but can be hard to sway once she's made a decision. Her presence is refreshing. Whenever she is near, those around her feel a burst of renewed vigor.

Altwidus has had many years to foster his power to pass down to his hatchlings, but
Mithra is a young new demi-goddess. Her hatchlings are druids, the power diluted but still present. Like Mithra and her father before her, Mithra's lineage usually find affinities for their power in nature, but with a mother born from Light and a father in Shadow, sometimes their offspring can become...odd mixtures.
