“Please... please spare my life...” The boy knelt in front of the man so that their eyes were on the same level. He looked deep into the man's eyes, his pink, translucent eyes holding a particularly childish gaze. He tilted his head, eyes still fixated on the man's. Then, his lips curled to form a small smile. “Don't worry! Your life has been spared.”

The man went frozen for a moment, as if he was paralyzed with shock. Finally, he snapped back to reality and managed a croak through his trembling voice, “R-really? Do you really mean it?” Tears started trickling down his wide, bewildered eyes.
“Yes, I mean it!” The boy replied with enthusiasm. “I had a talk with my leader to let you go. You can finally return to your children and your wife now!”

The man sank into the ground, overwhelmed with joy and relief. Without thinking, he reached out his shaky hands and held the boy's in gratitude, failing to notice the pointed end of a sharp object from under the boy's long-sleeved shirt.
“Thank you. Thank you so much. I will never forget your benevolence.”
Wiping at his eyes, he shakily got up to leave, bowing his head while doing so. He was about to take a step towards the door when he suddenly felt a stale, cold hard object pressing threateningly against his neck. Then it all happened within seconds. Warm blood gushed down his neck as he violently tried to fight against the pain, the threatening object sinking further and further down into his throat.

At last, his once struggling body went limp and weak.

His head fell onto the ground, sending a splatter of blood in every direction.
The arms wrapped around his crestfallen shoulders released the lifeless body and let it crash onto the ground, blood still oozing relentlessly from its' severed neck.


Panting heavily, the boy wiped off the sweat on his brow, the bloodied evidence in his hand reflecting the big grin on his face.
Then he simply walked away, throwing the knife behind him in an aimless manner. When he was about a few steps away from the door, he paused.
And then he looked back. This time, his sinister grin was replaced by that of an innocent child's, rivaling the cheery smile that he gave to the once living corpse. “Have fun with your children and your wife!”

Whistling, he waved his right hand around lazily as he left, leaving the bloody, gooey mess and the evidence behind him.
