Lovely place. Never been there, to be honest. Don't worry about prices, it's fine under one condition." xxxxxx"Which is?" xxxxxx"I may have overheard your conversation with that other pearlcatcher, the cloaked one. Now, now. Don't make that face. You were talking in public! If you wanted secrets, you should have talked in private." xxxxxx"Fine. Are you going to settle into that bigger clan, then?" xxxxxx"So it seems. Being a nobody, no parents, no clanmates... No proper clan would think of taking me in. But! Here's the deal! I help you make your move to this Porto place and you... Introduce me as part of your little..." xxxxxxHel had to put a name to that group of dragons that followed her. xxxxxx"Keep." xxxxxx"I join your little keep and we all get to this Porto place. I join a big clan where I don't have to worry about freezing my poor nature boy face every night and you start on this new job where you can... Follow your vocation or whatever." xxxxxxHelva lifted a single eyebrow at him. He was a character, alright. xxxxxx"Do we have a deal, pearlcatcher?" xxxxxx"I can't vouch for a dragon I barely know." xxxxxx"We'll have six weeks aboard darling Varvinda to get to know each other." — He gave a nice stroke at the ship behind him. xxxxxxShe sighed looking at the ship. xxxxxx'If darling Varvinda survives the journey, that is.' xxxxxx"Very well, skydancer. Invar's egg hatched on its own. Completely out of place. A single nature egg should not have survived in the frozen wastelands of the Southern Icefield. But alas, stranger things have happened, Invar will say. He is quite the character. Perhaps those many years doing whatever it took at whatever cost to survive skewered his common sense a little bit. He certainly does not operate on the same level as most dragons and the fact that he is Helvandr's left hand man makes the whole deal even more glaring.  
Yet, she trusts him completely, they are almost like a couple, if Helvandr was the type of pearlcatcher who admit they have romantic inclinations. As far as Invar is concerned, he's her mate, calls her as so and will not-so-discreetly whisper 'she's shy' when she says otherwise to people. Alas, as far as other dragons are concerned, they are a couple, regardless of what Hel wants to call it. Invar is quite cheerful and definitely a blithe spirit, he is having the time of his life having clanmates and actually being part of a large and thriving major clan! He will not miss the chance to have a chat with other dragons from all factions and while he is very out-going he never crosses the line into being obnoxious so he is, in fact, quite well-liked around Porto. His ship, Varvinda, is quite popular in town as well, simply because he will not shut up about her. Says she was his sole clanmate for the most part of his life. Poor guy.

Gosh, picking a favorite (any breed) form your lair has got to be the hardest thing on this site. They all look so good.
I went with Invar because of the apparel colors fitting him so well but it could have been basically ANY of your skydancers. |
