Arrotz is the clan chef, he prepares the dragons with food and water every single day. Why did he choose to be a chef? He wanted to step out of his regular meals and prepare everyone with delicious and good food. Everyday he'd experiment with ingredients to find the perfect recipe for the clan. He loves to be clean and always plays in the water whenever he feels like it. He has his own little swimming pool where he can rest and play in about whenever he so desires it. Along with a passion to swim and cook, he also loves farming animals like chickens and sheep, not for eating of course. Occasionally, he fishes outside of the clan for marine animals and potentially insects for nocturnes, mirrors, pearlcatchers, snappers and of course himself. He can sometimes be strict to the dragons he teaches but usually displays a carefree and happy personality. He cooks and prepares food for the young and old and occasionally takes younger dragons on his cooking lessons. His familiar helps him out on his daily duties but usually Arrotz can be found writing up new recipes, swimming or tending to his farm. Due to his origins back at Dragonhome, Arrotz loves his traditional recipes back at home. He would often find suitable large slabs of rocks, heat it up and cook meat, seafood, vegetables and insects on top a thin sheet of steel. Other dragons of the clan often refer to him as Arrow, since some dragons just can't pronounce the 'z' at the end of his name. Although Arrotz himself didn't make up the nickname, he doesn't mind being called Arrow. Long before the hours of his occupation, Arrotz would harvest daily amounts of crops from the clan's local farmers and oceans since those are the most fresh. Other able to be preserved foods such as meats and dried insects are stored in the hoard often brought home by the warriors and hunters of the clan. Since Arrotz has been cooking with all types of ingredients he thoroughly enjoys all types of foods: meat, seafood, plants and insects. Arrotz usually doesn't eat with the rest of his clan, he enjoys taste testing and grazing along his dishes while he prepares them, so he usually eats first. He wakes up earlier than most and gets straight to preparing the ingredients for his broths. Although Arrotz needs to prepare dishes for the entire lair, younger dragons often aid him with cooking. He tries to come up with new deserts and treats for the young and enjoys seeing other dragons taste his food. Arrotz favourite ingredients to use are young birds, hens, turtles, urchins, sardines, trout, crickets, beetles, lettuce, mint and sunflower seeds. Using special equipment such as the claws of a Salve Kamaitachi, burning embers, coal, salt, cooking oil and the fish oil harvested from marine animals. Although, Arrotz would cook with the resources available, making the meals balanced and healthy for dragons of all ages. When fresh resources are limited, Arrotz reluctantly turns to the food that the clan warriors would bring home. Usually meat and seafood are stored in the cooler areas of the lair and the insects are dried beforehand. Plants rot really quickly if not grown in the clan's vicinity and meat supplies stale really quickly if not properly preserved. Not to mention storing seafood must be far away from the dragons or the smell will clearly fill the entire lair. The meals often prepared by Arrots include a variety of meals, from wheat based products such as rice and bread to fine cuts of sashimi, steaks, pies, salads, stews, grilled fish, mild spices, fruits, nuts, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and even deserts such as rice pudding, yogurts, sponge cakes and muffins. Not to mention but Arrotz also owns a collection of glow in the dark slime. It's strange but he loves to use massive amounts of glue in his slime collection, lending them to hatchlings to play. |
