B I O G R A P H Y
Zechalis was the youngest of seven sisters, being a lesser heir to the royal throne of his parents, Matriarch Kalene and Patriarch Brym. A royal family of Mirrors, in the Scarred Wasteland, who had control over a great many dragons. The clan's name had been Anghora. That had been.... many years ago. Zechalis had been separated from his family when he was a hatchling, stolen away by a kidnapper seeking ransom. Though, somewhat by his luck, he had tumbled out of the carriage he had been stowed away in, after a particularly rough passage through the Wandering Contagion. He fell into the water, on the edge of Arcane and Plague territory. The water carried the struggling hatchling to the shores of the Crystalspine Reach, and that's where the little Zechalis found himself. Cold, wet, alone, and half-drowned, he was especially weak to Arcane's intense magic energy. So while he slept a fitful sleep.... he changed. And he awoke in agony, not long after sleep finally found him. |

Zechalis's wing had been damaged from an incident with a Shattered Serpent, after he had wandering off, having just snuck out from the Nursery. His eldest sister had to save him. Flying was impossible from then on, as he had gained a terribly mangled wing. But the Arcanist had fixed it, in that moment. His wing had been fixed.... but that hadn't been the only part of his anatomy that had been changed. His eyes, they were twisted to a sickly magenta color. No longer that pretty rust red they once were. And he was... well, he was given a second set of arms. Thinking back on it, Zechalis joked that the Arcanist Himself 'blessed' him, in that moment. Recreated him in His Image, or whatever that was supposed to mean. Quartz hadn't quite approved of the joke at the time. Speaking of Quartz, he was the one who had found Zechalis after his painful transformation. He was a hatchling, himself. But he wasn't alone. A young Guardian named Xena was his company, as well as as a little Coatl named Amestrys... and one more. But Zechalis doesn't remember her. He wished he did. But that was it. A band of dragons consisting of an adolescent, and three hatchlings. Well, four, now, when Zechalis joined them. And that was that. The start. The revitalized start of Clan Anghora, as Zechalis as Clan Leader. Self assigned (and gods it was cute, Xena still fondly remembered.) Patriarch, Zechalis did the best he could for his new clan, as it slowly gained members. He had been so, so proud. And he still was. ....Even now. |

And it was this blind trust in his clanmates that had almost been his downfall. As only days before his hatching day.... his clan had been attacked. And as it turned out, it was Mother, and her Enforcer Merric, who had led this attack. And they had almost won, had it not been for Quartz, Xena, and the rest of the Clanguard fighting them all off. A secret inner-working of dragons, all under Mother's control. A cult. Right under his nose. He had been too blind to see.... They.... left Zechalis nearly dead. And it took everything Quartz had, to keep the Mirror alive. |

When Zechalis next woke... he was in horrible pain. He was sore everywhere. He could barely move. And his den? Where... Where was he? He didn't know. But Xena was there beside him, stirring from her position to nuzzle her friend. Comforting him. She explained all, in hushed whispers. And the reality sank in deep. Water. The Leviathan's Trench. Islands. Azla. Anghora had found a new leader. A younger, more capable leader to guide the clan. And guide them, she did. Azla gained the help of her mother Meraki, and her own former clan leader Freida, who aided her in safely moving the clan and its residents to the Tidelord's realm. Safety. Far away from The Starwood Strand. And Quartz had helped her. |
