Saze | The Protector
There are things in the sea. They are hidden in the darkest depths practicing magics forbidden to dragonkind, and avoid those who dwell above where light still pierces the water. Rumors tell of giant leviathans, twisting abominations whose age (and appetite) go beyond the bounds of comprehension. Whether or not those rumors are true is an opinion that changes in direct correlation to how far one is from the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Most Windies, however, view them as nothing more than a bard's tale that gets recited at the tavern every once in a while.

Those who know Saze, however, have learned otherwise. Even those who don't might suspect, as although her guise is well practiced, she can - and has - slipped under duress. However, Saze is a proud creature; well-versed in combat and more than willing to use intimidation to her advantage against those she doesn't trust. Most are too intimidated by

her stern countenance to accuse her of being something other than what she proclaims to be. But should you ask those who are magically sensitive, they will all agree; something is off about her.

In truth, Saze is a kraken, which are primal beasts hailing from the turbulent beginnings of the world. They mastered the magical art of squishing oneself into a form other than one's own and evolved with the principle that survival was hinged upon being able to adapt to a changing environment. Their powerful transformation magic and generally antisocial habits have made the darkest depths of the Leviathan Trench an ideal habitat, and even Saze is unaware of how many of her kind lurk below the waves, hiding and watching the dragons from below.
