Biography

tehsat /te-saat/ noun
the act of deceiving; an illusory feat; considered magical by naive observers; a misleading falsehood

Born into a quiet, easygoing Light clan, Tehsat never knew much about the world outside her home. When she came of age, she was mated to a kind and handsome wildclaw named Jafris; they had three gorgeous little hatchlings and raised them until the little ones went their separate ways. Even though she didn't have anything against her mate, she didn't feel the kind of love towards him that everyone had told her about. He noticed it as well, and told her if she needed to look elsewhere she was more than welcome to. His gentle expression and understanding softened her, and she asked if he would continue to be her friend even after everything. He agreed wholeheartedly, and they grew closer and closer. He was never bitter about her feelings for him; he loved her because of her beautiful, light filled soul.
Eventually, her eyes fell upon an older Skydancer named Carnelian, and they became close. They also had three beautiful hatchlings together, and Tehsat began to feel a small spark of the love she had been told about over and over; they said she would find the right male, and she wondered if it was Carnelian after all.
Then the horror filled day came: The battle that no one would ever forget, Light versus Plague. It was chaos. Tehsat was terrified as she and her clanmates watched friends and family get exalted, never to be seen again. She understood that it was a necessary thing and everyone would go there eventually, but she'd never seen anything like this. Hatchlings were yanked from their nests before they were even fully hatched from their eggs, sent to the Lightweaver before anyone could blink twice.
Tehsat clung closely to her mate, and she realized that Jafris also stayed near her as well. In the moment, her heart warmed even more for her friend. He was with her through everything and never judged her.
Her greatest nightmare in these horror-filled days was the idea of losing Jafris or Carnelian to this battle. The thought haunted her, and as the battle drew nearer its end, she began to relax a little, as the chances of losing either of them grew smaller and smaller. Even as her muscles relaxed, she realized that Carnelian's body was suddenly stiff; when she looked over to him, she let out a cry of terror. His eyes were glazed and the glowing yellow had turned to a dull grey. Slowly, methodically, he stood.
"Carnelian! PLEASE NO!"
He looked at her and brushed his tail against her neck; he then turned, ducked out of their shelter, and was gone.
Tehsat screamed silently after him; Jafris encircled her in his wings and held her close as she tried to go after her mate; grief ripped her apart from the inside out. It would be a long time before she would recover.
She decided that she wanted to leave the clan, because the memories hurt too much to stay. Whens he told Jafris, he insisted on going with her to make sure she was safe. She wanted to tell him no but had to face that she wanted him with her more than anything.
And time did pass; the hole in her heart gradually filled, though she still had moments where the loss overwhelmed her again. Through it all, Jafris was there. They traveled far, roaming the lands with no destination in mind. At one point, they met a pack of beastclans who attacked them; Tehsat was badly injured, and Jafris, who had minor injuries, caried her out of the beastclan territory and cared for her. She grew weaker and Jafris did the only thing he could: He found a secluded, quiet place and took off in search of a nearby clan. He found a border patrol of a plague clan and pleaded for help. The patrol was tentative but once they saw Tehsat they were quick to bring her in. She was nursed back to health and they were invited to stay as members of the clan. After a bit of thought they accepted.
Eventually she befriended one of the clan members, Akram, a male imperial with soft, beautiful colors. They spoke, and almost too quickly became mates; Tehsat felt guilty, didn't think enough time had passed since losing her love, but Jafris convinced her it was alright. She and Akram had their first clutch... of one single little daughter. Tehsat became nervous when she saw Akram's reaction to the single egg, but tried not to think about it. He eventually confronted her about it and demanded to know why there was only one. Tehsat's nervousness turned to fear at his vicious tone and she tried to explain that she had no control over it; Akram's only response was an angry snarl in her face, then he whipped around and left.
Despite the reaction, Tehsat was determined to care for her hatchling, and Jafris acted as an uncle of sorts to the little hatchling.
One night while curled up next to her closest friend and her hatchling, she wakes abruptly when Jafris stands. When she looked up at him, it took a moment to adjust to darkness, but then she saw that his eyes were glazed over and grey.. Just like Carnelian. Her soul left her body as she realized what was happening, and she could hardly move as Jafris nuzzled her sadly.
"J-Jafris.. you can't.. don't leave me..."
A single tear rolled down Jafris' face. Tehsat could only watch as, against his will, her only friend and solace left her forever.
Weak and in shock from what just happened, she slumped over; moments before she passed out, she saw Akram standing in the entrance to her cave, a wide malicious grin carved across his face, his red eyes glowing evilly.
"At this hour, lie not my mercy with all mine enemies."
Anger filled her and everything went black.
She woke just a few minutes later, her heart empty and her eyes dull. Akram was gone, but she sensed him close. She couldn't think of anything except that the nest next to her was still warm. That night she left, her daughter still sleeping in her bed. She flew, high, where the air grew icy cold and she flew and flew. She didn't look down. She had lost everyone she loved.
Tehsat wasn't aware of how much time passed; she didn't care. But eventually she grew tired, and exhaustion set in. She couldn't feel her limbs from the cold, and knew she needed to stop and rest but she couldn't, not yet. Even as she had the thought, the emptiness spread out in front of her darkened and her wings twitched, then gave out..
Tehsat woke up to a handful of concerned faces staring down at her, a guardian, wildclaw, and two skydancers. All four of them lit up when she opened her eyes.
(Need to write out) She fell after passing out again and got a broken wing, the clan said they saw her falling out of the sky and tried to catch her before she hit the ground; they made it, but were too late to break the full impact and they all hit hard. One of those involved had a broken leg but the clan's healer had already taken care of it; they were waiting for Tehsat to wake up to give them permission to perform the healing magic on her. She gave permission. After finding out the clan was Plague, she panicked and wouldn't explain why, she just wanted to leave. They couldn't stop her, but as she left another imp cut her off and asked what that was about; it was Akihiko and the familiar light eyes gave her pause. He gained an ounce of her trust when they talked for a moment, and convinced her to return. Once he proved his sincerity to her, she told him everything, and he was sad and angry and just heartbroken for her. She was caught off guard by his caring nature and they became friends. She still didn't completely trust everyone but every day it got better. Aki would introduce her to someone new and they'd find something they both liked, or something they could talk about, and over time she became comfortable in her new home and swore to never leave. She also swore to never take on another mate, and she was afraid to tell Aki in case he had feelings for her; when she finally did tell him, he just chuckled and said that when they first met he could tell that her fear had something to do with past love. Even if he did have feelings for her like that, he would never force her into anything, and he said that he loved her as a friend and he wanted to prove that not everyone is bad.

She ended up in a plague lair again and it took time to lose her hatred for their kind. Akihiko, another Light dragon, helped her through it all and became the friend she hadn't had since she lost Jafris.
