After Avid was murdered, Tianlor was one of the only dragons who was allowed to leave the protection of the lair. He became an expert in camouflage and would hunt in the protection of his hiding places. His expertise didn't come to him overnight, he had a lot of run-ins with hostile Marens before he finally got a handle on it.

On one of his hunting trips he shot down a Harpy but he couldn't stand the thought of killing her. He hated the beastclans but he just couldn't pull himself to finish the job. He took the screeching and protesting harpy to the lair to be healed. Misan protested healing what she saw as a savage monster who would poison everyone when they let their guards down. Tianlor wouldn't take no for an answer and she finally treated the dying beast. Tianlor became enamored with the creature and he would spend many nights at her bedside asking her many questions about her people and herself. She would refuse to speak at first but slowly warmed up to him. After she was better she took it upon herself to tell the clan that it was the Harpies who actually killed Avid. Illith quickly called off the attacks on the Maren and switched all her attention and the Harpies. Tianlor didn't know how to feel about being friends with one of the beasts who killed his little sister.

Tianlor gave up many of the things he loved in this period as he just couldn't stand the thought of losing another thing he loved. But as much as he tried he couldn't stay away from the Harpy who appeared to have betrayed her people for them. He would watch her fly through the vast caverns sky until she would land and they would enjoy each other's company. He didn't want to admit it until his mother forced him to tell to her that the Harpy now nicknamed Razor was his Charge.
