Vendetta:
It was within the confines of a small office room that a conversation of utmost importance was taking place. Not a soul stirred ‘cept for one as per to be expected of such a conversation. But, just like it was of complete normality, one would not help but wonder where and when the second entity would emerge. For now, though, only the beating of a single heart could be heard along with the whisperings of the gentle breeze provided by the office’s air conditioner.
Surrounding the office was an eerie emptiness as the time was a little before dawn; too early for even the morning workers to arrive. This gave the illusion of supreme secrecy and, perhaps, it was for exactly that reason that the time had been chosen. Still, it was too early to tell for only the shadows moved from within the closed doors. Regardless, the atmosphere but tense let alone for a growing sadistic degree of pleasure that was taken place.
The room was quiet and still. Yet, it would only last a few moments only to be interrupted by a decree of a seemingly lonesome character. “Look into it,” a voice commanded to an entity unknown. “I want nothing left to chance.” The voice was undoubtedly authoritative but no one could be heard responding to it. The spiral did not seem to mind as a sly, sarcastic smile began to illuminate his face. He grinned as his eyes blazed in hellish pleasure.
There was a moment of silence but the spiral seemed to hear something reply for he would respond with an even bigger grin, “Perfect. See to it that it shall be done.” There was another period of silence before the crimson spiral slithered out from his office -the smile still plastered across his face. It was clear that he enjoyed the conversation that had just gone on. Yet, as to what it was about, no one knew nor would another entity emerge from the confinements of the office doors to ever speak a word.
No sooner had the spiral locked his office doors when a bustling of sounds engulfed the room. He would look up at the clock for a brief moment and give a slight frown. 6:47 A. Vendetta would then immediately plaster a kind smile upon his face as two chattering nymphs came bursting in. They were obviously excited about something. “Mister Vendetta, sir!” A bubble nymph cried out with glee. “We finally got the part!” They looked at him expectedly.
For the briefest of moments, the spiral was utterly confused. Yet, in a split second, his face would turn back to its previous state as he looked at them with pride. “Ah, yes.” He would agree wholeheartedly. “Congratulations!” He would then look at them with playful seriousness. “Was it for the part you wanted?” The Bubble Nymph, in turn, puffed up its chest while the Magic nymph lowered her eyes, downcast. “Yes, sir!” cried the Bubble nymph. “Jessie got back-up!”
The spiral nodded his head in understanding. “Well done,” he said at last. “Do well to study and don’t forget about me when you’re both famous.” He grinned in jest earning a determined nod from both nymphs. “Don’t worry!” they chimed in unison. “We would never forget you!” The spiral chuckled. “I’d hope not.” He would look at the clock as a worrisome expression clouded his face. “Pardon me,” he said apologetically. “I’m running late for a meeting.” He would then part and disappear into the corridor.
