CINDREA, glassmaker.
"There ain't no rest for the wicked, until we close our eyes for good."

.. At first glance, Cindrea seems rather out of place in the camp of the Hezul Mercenaries. She's rather the quiet sort, rarely speaking, and if she does, barely audibly enough to be heard- she almost never leaves the forge she shares with her best friend, Flint, and often turns a blind eye when other dragons need her help, unless they're interested in her craft. Some would even describe her as nihilistic, in the way that she seems to keep going on endlessly, without much of a purpose, but she knows the truth of the matter. It's one that few dragons know, and even fewer dare to ask about.

Growing up in the Great Furnace meant that you were top of the line at smithing, but some dragons held different passions. Some loved to make sculptures out of the volcanic sand, where others would create the finest weapons and armor for the Flamecaller and do Her bidding faithfully. Cindrea, as it turns out, found the glassy surface of the obsidian enticing, and soon found that she was rather skilled at creating her own glass, beautiful colors and designs shining through the transparent material and creating a light show of her own craft. Though it was seen as a more delicate thing than steel or iron, her work did not go unappreciated, and many rich buyers found themselves in demand of her services. This was when she met a young Skydancer, whose hide was burnt like charcoal but eyes as bright as the lava- his name was Flint, and immediately, it was friendship at first sight. (Nothing more- she once had a lovely girlfriend, and the three of them were friends. Once.

Everything changed the night that some particularly naive kings and knights thought that Flint's decorative armors were just too weak, getting too many vain dragons slain in the midst of battle, and they stormed their humble forge, piercing scales with very real spears and swords and claws. Valiantly they fought, the two of them, having each others' backs, but by the time that the intruders were chased away, both lay bleeding on the rocks. Cindrea was the lesser injured of the two, as she was not the main target, but chunks of flesh were torn apart and she knew that if she didn't do something soon, both of them would be dead. So...she did the unthinkable.

She used the glass she was melting to close up the wounds, leaving transparent, sunset-colored patches of glass embedded in her body. One could say it was...beautiful. But to her, it was just another reminder that she wasn't perfect, just yet. As she recovered from the searing heat of the melted glass cooling rapidly, she then took care of Flint, until she blacked out. Later, she woke up next to him, and both were...alright. Sort of. Mutually agreeing to never speak of this day again, they packed up what little belongings they had left and flew south, to a home they'd never quite know.

Now both of them work side by side in the forge of the mercenaries, creating weapons for them and other buyers, and glass for the rich folk they work for. It's not her first choice, but hey, as long as she's alive and doing the one thing she loves, perhaps it will work out in the end.
